Kylie Minogue - Tension Tour 2025

I have now seen the entire show (online). I don't know, it feels relentless, pulsating fun to me and her discography is as bulletproof as ever. Just decades of endlessly infectious, state of the art pop. Kylie is radiant and I have no issues with the costumes and choreography, I get sleek and minimalistic vs. cheap. I can't wait to see it up close. Yeah I miss the theatrics and wow moments but at the same time, you connect better with Kylie's energy and the communal sense of fun and nostalgia without them?

Yeah was there tonight too. It was pretty incredible. The videos don't capture the vibe at all. It's kind of relentless from the second the lights go down.

We got the chorus of Hand on your Heart and Lucky as the "acoustic" song. Also no Story in the setlist so I guess she actually didn't perform it in Brisbane.

I was also at the Sydney show tonight and whilst I still do think that Team Kylie miscalculated what they should’ve done with this tour (a high production, high concept show), the show is fabulous.

It was high octane and relentless, just smash after smash and Kylie was in top form. She’s at the peak of her performance power, she made it look so easy and the audience was eating out the palm of her hands.

Kylie commented in one of her little banter sections that her vision for the show was connection with the music and to the audience, and she absolutely succeeded in realising that. The other Kylie shows I’ve been to, it took a while for the crowd to warm up but at tonight’s show the crowd was pretty much up on their feet from the second song.

However, I agree that the first quarter of the show needed stronger supporting visuals and that some of the transitions are a little clunky, especially when she was getting to and from the B stage, but I can forgive that when the rest of the show was so strong.

I actually thought for Kylie, there was quite a bit of choreography too. We know she goes easy on the dancing so she can perform fully live. But she does join in the choreo a fair bit this time.

@CK87 relentless is a great descriptor. That opening set was crazy and it doesn't really ease up.

I’ve been to every Kylie tour since Homecoming (and I saw Intimate and Live) and I honestly think that The Hyde Park show last year was my favourite show of hers, and one of the best concerts I’ve ever seen. It was absolutely relentless and the energy was next level. So if the concert is anything like that I’ll be in my element.

Kylie danced more than most of her recent tours!

I hope I see you tonight! I am not hungover today!!

My thoughts……..

Conceptually her 2002 Fever tour & 2008 X tour were bolder and more artistic…… but this tour, I think anyways…… Kylie’s inviting you into a 1990s London nightclub.

Some songs literally felt like a filthy gay bar @ 4am. The dancing, the sweating. It was pretty amazing and intense.

Kylie’s not a huge choreographed dancer like Janet & Madonna…… but this tour she dances freestyle like she’s in a nightclub herself and it was actually bloody magical. I’ve actually never seen Kylie dance and jump around so much. She doesn’t just strut (like a model) at this tour.

Some people won’t like the shortened songs 1 verse 1 chorus 1 bridge BUT personally I think it works as the show/energy never stops.

Locomotion, All the lovers & Spinning Around are obvs mostly for her suburban fans BUT hey she’s got to cater for all fans, and some fans expecting the BIR Dolphin mix of WITF…… 75% of the audience would use that song to pee/go the bar. Turning around and watching the audience for All the Lovers, all the Mum’s (Karen’s and Sharon’s) and young daughters were living their best lives for me….. I was like ……. yeah okay next song!!!!!!!

Good as gone was great. It’s got choreography. Dancers look cool. A little bit Mel & Kim with their hats BUT I love Mel & Kim.

Things we do for love is just Kylie and the 3 singers dancing around like teenagers! Strong vocal.

Slow midway through felt like when your drugs kick in. The arena was dancing like drug fucked fools @ 4:30am.

Edge of Saturday is magnificent! Such a vibe.

Say Something & Hold on to Now are the slow songs of the night. Strong vocals.

I’m an old gay so Shocked & What do I have to do were sensational. The Gumby dancers costumes for Shocked was an odd choice.

I’d never seen Padam or Tension live…… and from 90% of the footage I’ve seen with the vocal treatments, they don’t come off live……. but turns out, they do.

Requests we got were Hand on your heart & Lucky. I would have preferred Did it Again.

Confide in me with the video opener is like 11 mins long. Her vocal was perfect for this.

All in all……. definitely not her greatest tour in the artistic sense…… but her actual performance and energy levels, I’ve never seen her perform like that EVER……. And I’ve seen 11 tours since 1991.

I saw her in Brisbane Night 2 after not seeing her live since the "Fever" tour and she's still phenomenal.
For me, I could have done without some of the "Disco" songs in exchange for some other singles (why does hate "Please Stay" so much?) but all in all she had the crowd in her hand even for the "Tension" tracks that the GP might not know.
It's very much a victory lap moment for a hard earned, long career.

I may have missed this but has she permanently replaced Monday Blues with Magic? That would fill me with joy for when I see her in June.

Although, I would prefer DanceFloor Darling or I Love It but anything is better than Monday Blues.
By the looks of it, yes she has. Magic being snubbed in favour of Monday Blues, arguably the most loathed track from the Disco album, was a odd choice!

Night two in Sydney was another fantastic night. I think the crowd were even louder today. People seemed to be singing along a lot more. Even to the new tracks.

‘Requests’ were Hand on Your Heart and Lucky again.

That’s it, my two shows are done, flying back to reality tomorrow. But I’ll have the biggest smile on my face.

I went to the show in Bangkok last night. The only other time I have seen her live was Kylie X in Frankfurt a long time ago, so this new show was certainly a long overdue, but different experience.

The good: her vocals, her chatty and bubbly persona, the club feel of the show, the very small venue, my seat right next to the B-stage, making eye contact with her, timely start of the show, some backdrop videos were gorgeous.

The bad: lack of stage props, venue organization (the venue was at the 5th floor of a mall and they closed all escalators and toilets after the show, meaning you had 5000 pissed people waiting in chaotic queues to get down with a handful of elevators - a mess!), too many mobile phones in the air especially during the first set, some repetitive video screens, tacky *glitter* explosions (the poor cleaners).

My highlights: Say Something, Confide In Me, Spinning Around, Tension.

All in all a great and fun show, which is very uptempo and which makes you dance and sing along and you leave with a full heart and a smile.

I was at the show too last night. I'm shocked by how bad the exiting management was like you said - the escalators not functioning before they resumed it 15 minutes later. It was quite a chaos.

Highlights: Locomotion, Say Something, All The Lovers, Tension.

Kylie was so bubbly and chatty. I can tell she loved Bangkok and the crowd. The choreo and costumes were pretty AMAZING!

The smallest venue of the tour! So you got an up, close and personal show!

Tokyo and Taiwan back to 15,000 capacity (take out 5K seats in arenas with stages) venues, then Toronto which is 20,000 capacity.
