It's such a shame we never got a DISCO tour. I can imagine a Disco-fied version of the classic hits would've been interesting.
Read through the last couple pages and have some thoughts. First I don't think Kylie is getting way more hate than the other pop girls. Second I think she found quite a safe space to do what she loves. I doubt the label would fund her going completely weird or experimental musically. Although she could be a bit more brave on one or two album tracks per album. I feel the lack of proper outliers on the last albums made them feel too safe and simple maybe? It is true that there are few extreme surprises. Plus I feel some people are disappointed that the themes of the albums were just a cute dress up for classic pop songs.
I doubt a proper country fan really bothered with Golden. I feel like the ones that really are into Disco sound felt Disco to not be authentic enough. Could be seen as genre elitism sure. But some Disco songs could have been on Golden and the other way around, Which feeds the narrative of her just being basic now.
Personally I think she found her own recipe for joy. She does what she wants to do, lives out some ideas and meets Jessie and Olly for some cute duets. Feels like someone who doesn't have to prove anything just does what works. A bit predictable? Sure. But there are worse versions of what she could do now in the fight to stay somehow relevant.
Fans who followed a whole career being overly critical also isn't exclusive to Kylie. Sure Disco could have been Renaissance in terms of production and creativity but I don't know if she really would have the drive still and she doesn't have to. There is room for criticism and both albums are far from perfect. But there are lots of reasons they are what they are. And I doubt the next one will be a huge change from the formula.
In terms of going on with a long career and mixing old with the new I think Kylie does a great job overall.
Even better I say, I would much happily take an new album over a tour and waiting longer for an new record instead. Hopefully the new tour will combine the best of both of K 15 and 16 together and leave NO more room for Kids!!!Yeah but we will get a Disco/Electric tour which will be even better!!
It is such a shame Kylie did not announce some show or a one-off Impossible Princess show to celebrate the 25th anniversary. A no thrills 3 nights at Shepherd's Bush just like she did 1998. A gig without any post IP songs and focusing on her Decon days and including non album tracks like This Girl, Difficult By Design, Tears, If You Don't Love Me and Take Me With You.

I agree with this. If Kylie wasn't currently active working on new material, an anniversary show could've been fun, but because she is, it makes more sense to focus on her upcoming project. As much as I love IP I’d rather she work on the new album. I love the ‘Kylie anniversary’ social media posts but I don’t want her taking time away from making original material.
It's so strange to think that back in 1998 three nights at Shepherd's Bush was all she could manage, but she would probably sell out those nights in a heartbeat if she announced a one-off Impossible Princess concert. It is such a shame Kylie did not announce some show or a one-off Impossible Princess show to celebrate the 25th anniversary. Nah, it's not like an anniversary concert would divert any attention away from a new campaign in a couple of months, nor would it take away Kylie's time to focus on recording new songs. I know there's rehearsals but she is basically the last element needed and she wouldn't need as much time in the rehearsal room as the band members. Also, the new songs have most likely been recorded and finalised already. As much as I love IP I’d rather she work on the new album. That would certainly be nice and an nod to the album's/era's 25th anniversary also. That said, I hope we get some IP tracks on the new tour, even if they are disco/electric-fied.

They were 3 of the best Kylie shows I ever seen. Each night was rammed full. I have never been to Shepherd's Bush for any concerts previously or after that was as packed. It was a health and safety nightmare waiting to happen. The love and admiration for Kylie was mind-blowing and the crowd was electric. I have not experienced anything like it at any of the KM shows I have seen before or after those 3 concerts.
