Australia #39How’s it doing in other countries?
To me, clear and transparent both mean the same thing but people confuse them for colourless.Clear and transparent are annoyingly used interchangably when describing see-through vinyl.
Currently the Garbage fanbase is 13 weeks into an argument about their recent see-through-red vinyl EP because it was described on the sticker as "transparent" vinyl - it was transparent, but it was also red, so people have convinced themselves there's a non-red variant and are upset when they order it and get a red one, instead of a "clear" one.
She is a national treasure here! Forty-six Top 40 singles is huge. And even though 'Padam' is her first Australian Top 40 single since 'Timebomb', she's had four #1 albums in that time. "Kiss Me Once", "Golden", "Step Back in Time: The Definitive Collection" and "Disco" all went #1 in Australia. It boggles my mind that Kylie hadn't charted in Australia in a decade. I thought she would be such a national treasure there, her breathing on a record would be enough to take it top ten.
This is totally how it fits. It has that element of kookiness that so many of her classics have, and the retro-futurist thing that she does so well. For me, Padam Padam just immediately sits next to the finest ever Kylie singles e.g. Slow, All The Lovers, Love At First Sight etc. It sounds nothing like them but it fits perfectly alongside them. It's part of the gang. It feels like we've always had it, like it's been entrenched in the Kylie canon for years, and not that it's only been out for a few weeks. The definition of an instant classic.
