Kylie Minogue - Tension

Golden was an okay album

Disco was a fun album to dance around the house to!

I’m excited to hear what’s coming between Feb to June/July

I think people forget that between Jan and October 2021 all we got were a few Real Groove mixes. There was a 10 month gap where basically nothing happened 2 months after the album was released until the rerelease came.

I think the pandemic also needs to be taken into account. They did try to work towards a tour that got postponed and the eventually cancelled when it became clear it was not possible.

Imo, even though Lost Without You is a highlight, it kind of belongs with the bonus tracks because sonically it really sticks out. What I appreciated with Golden, is that they cared about how it sounded as an album and not just a collection of tracks (the opposite can be said about KMO).

For me, the tracklist is great as is. The only change I would make is move One Last Kiss to the end of the standard album. Ending on Music’s Too Sad without bringing the energy back up felt like a bit of a bummer and anti-climactic. Also I initially didn’t appreciate One Last Kiss until much later because of how much it blends in with everything else in the middle of the album.

Lost Without You was such a moment on the tour.

She looked so intense while singing it.

I actually couldn't care less we got no Disco tour. With Covid, the world basically paused for 18 months.

Anyhoo - back to KM16 and a KM16 tour in 2024.

Both things can be true though. Disco didn't have the post-release campaign that most people incorrectly remember it having, which we all acknowledge can probably be largely attributed to them not knowing how to navigate the campaign during the pandemic.

I think also all the Disco promo was filmed in one week, and then spoon fed to the UK, USA and Australia.

She’s made for the Eurovision stage so it would be great to watch, but outside of Last.FM (which I think is editable), it’s not been discussed anywhere else so far.

I'd truly love to know what sort of hardcore drugs she and her team are on if they think a good series of promo opportunities involves her doing World Pride and Eurovision after having performed for a group of rich people in a country where being gay is still punishable by death.

The new Pitchfork review for Impossible Princess mentions Kylie delivered a different version of the album to the label before they sent her back to record more songs with Manic Street Preachers, does this track list exist anywhere?
