Kylie Minogue

Yes, there was a total of 3 alternative versions made for Got To Be Certain. I believe, that was from the version that was attended to be the music video, but all concerned was not that keen and so another edit was was made-the one we are most used which begins with the photographer taking photos of Kylie. The other edit, mostly is of Kylie (looking stunning!) in the black dress on the rooftop.
Wow! Never knew this. I love the black dress look at the end - she looks stunning. And the shuddering carousel horse of course!

Think my favourite look from the various Got To Be Certain videos, is this:

The original Got To Be Certain video was probably done for Oz by Mushroom to quickly follow Lucky but when they saw Lucky started smashing around the world they realised it was not much cop and that some more money could be invested in project K. I'm surprised they kept the horse scenes, those looked naff even to impressionable 14 year old me.

I love that you say 'Not much cop'. Brilliant!

Got To Be Certain is also my favourite 80s Kylie's single, closely followed by the criminally underrated Wouldn’t Change A Thing!

Of course, this would be totally different if Turn It Into Love had been released globally as it deserved to be. Her greatest 80s and still one of her all time best. And that is that on that!

I'm not a fan of the music but the amount of lewks she serves in the video for Never Too Late are enough to fill a Night Of A 1000 Kylie's runway on Drag Race.

A hidden gem of 80s Kylie is Getting Closer, the b-side to the pre-PWL Locomotion single. Its a great little bop that would have sounded great on her debut. The PWL "UK Mix" is garbage though.

I love Getting Closer.

That high "closer" really does it for me.

It's my big 30 today, so thought being WhatKindOfKylie?, had to of course have a new celebratory appropriate avatar, and thus gone for something from the first single that I was around in real time (if not to enjoy of course back then!), the iconic Shocked! Been a fan since 12 and she's more of an icon to me than ever and her music has been here for good times and bad. Long may she reign.
