Kylie Minogue

Steve Anderson’s interview on the This Is Disco podcast is really good. Judging by his answer, Soon is the song in the Kylie vault I would love to hear. A Kylie-Nick Cave penned song produced by Rob Dougan sounds like heaven.

Seems like it was Kylie herself who put the kibosh on that song.

Also, for anyone still clinging to the urban legend that UK radio wouldn't touch her back then, re-read the sentence "A-Listed at Radio One". And then the airplay stats for the week of the single release.

It's great to see interviews from her around this time with her music very much the core theme.

She does say "this time around" so hopefully one day it gets dusted off like she did with Sometime Samurai, which she also didn't like her vocal take at the time.

I don't buy vinyl often (It's probably been three years) but I made an exception for Impossible Princess, one of my favourite albums.

It was kind of cool to go on release day and find Impossible Princess in Canadian record shops. I don't think the original CD was even issued here except via import.
Toronto love for IP25!

I had a bizarre dream last night that finally a full vocal mix of the 1992 b side Do You Dare was unleashed from the PWL vault - reality of course was this was not to be! So I got to thinking could I mash up 2 Kylie tracks to create this myself - so here is the result - mixed with the verses from Timebomb. Thanks to @Utopia for the suggestion of using Timebomb. Enjoy!

After the disappointment of getting home last night after work to find none of my IP vinyls had arrived the doorbell went this morning and to my surprise my orange vinyl from HMV and my TM / KM store marble, violet & the stunning picture disc have all arrived. I am in KM IP utopia.

I have always adored the IP cover and it looks incredible on the picture disc. Seeing that cover spinning around is a dream come true.

I'm currently listening to Impossible Princess on vinyl and I'm ascending. I used to be obsessed with this album when I first got into Kylie. While I certainly haven't forgotten the record, I sort of left it on the back burner because of how much I rinsed it. It's such a great listen, front-to-back.

Forgive me for the lapse in memory, but which songs from their collaborations were released outside of the original 10-track album, and which song is the song Steve is referring to that wasn't released? I'm presuming it's "Free"?
I think he’s referring to You’re The One. The 10-track included the songs that did get an official release, and four that didn’t: Stay This Way, Take Me With You, This Girl, and You’re the One. Free wasn’t part of it.

This Girl isn’t a Brothers In Rhythm production. I think the 4 were Take Me With You, Stay This Way, Love Takes Over Me and You’re The One

Wait..there are signed versions?

Despite having a very emotional attachment to IP, I haven’t purchased yet (my bank account can’t keep up with the deluge of vinyl reissues these days) but I would absolutely spring for a signed copy. Are these available anywhere?
