Kylie Minogue

Kiss Me Once is easily a better album than Disco. The production is stellar, especially when compared to Sky Adam's tinny production that can be found across most of Disco, and the highs are higher—I'm sure that we can all agree that "Into The Blue," "Feels So Good," "If Only," "Les Sex," "Kiss Me Once" and "Sleeping With The Enemy" are all bops. I know that they're not as universally loved, but "Million Miles," "I Was Gonna Cancel" and "Sexercize" also slap.

Disco also contains one of the worst songs in Kylie's discography ("Monday Blues").

This is a great little accompaniment to the BBC Eras podcast: https://www.abc.net.au/listen/progr...on-pop-disco-dance-indie-neighbours/102869000

It’s a 1hr podcasts on Kylie’s career but from an Australian perspective - the PWL era focuses mainly on Kylie and facing her critics and tall poppy syndrome and a bit more reverence is given to the DeCon era. Weirdly most of the Parlo era is skipped over to go straight to the BMG era (learning how to record herself, Padam and ageism)

I've said it before but the only reason I put Kiss Me Once quite low is because I know now that Kylie wasn't feeling good during the era and didn't connect with the album. It's clear that was why we got the Sleepwalker EP self-released on the tour opening night.

Label influence always ruins an album.

Into The Blue
Golden Boy
Crystallize
Feels So Good
If Only
Wait
Glow
Break This Heartbreak
Fine
Million Miles
Sleeping With The Enemy
Kiss Me Once

A masterpiece of an album. The Sex Trilogy could be a bonus disc because bops.
Yep, this just proves how strong much of the material this era was. I hope that Kylie even at least gives it a mention on it's 10th anniversary next year and not get anything just because of it flopping.

It would be a cute nod to the era to finally get Sleepwalker on streaming platforms. I still think it's some of her strongest work. Especially Glow, that song is so special.

I still hate the album artwork for The Abbey Road Sessions.
Same. I forget what it actually was but on her website at the time, she had something with a ton of images that looked like alternate covers and so I replaced the art on my digital library with two and haven’t looked back once. They were fairly HQ too but since I’m Not on my desktop here’s resized screencaps as examples.

The Abbey Road Sessions is the low point of 21st century Kylie and even it's passable.
I feel like I bring this up every time The Abbey Road Sessions is brought up, but I feel like its release is what prematurely pushed Kylie into the heritage act box. The concept is completely understandable, but came a little too early in her career.

A "Re-recordings" album and a Christmas album within a few short years. Two out of the three heritage act hat-trick, had she done a "Duets" album as well, she would have been firmly within it.
