Did Abbey Road even have that much impact that it would push her into more of a legacy act territory? I love it as a project but I don’t think they were strategically trying to present her as more of an adult contemporary act.
It was a heavily promoted project—probably the most heavily promoted K25 project. She did Friday Night With Jonathan Ross, Strictly Come Dancing, Royal Variety Show, X Factor Italy, X Factor UK, Alan Carr: Chatty Man, The Wendy Williams Show, Dancing With The Stars and The Tonight Show With Jay Leno. And the styling from that era was very adult contemporary.
However, I don't think that it was intentional or strategic—it was just the logical way to present the project—but it had the unintended consequence of making Kylie feel more like a heritage act.
