Kylie Minogue

Same. I forget what it actually was but on her website at the time, she had something with a ton of images that looked like alternate covers and so I replaced the art on my digital library with two and haven’t looked back once. They were fairly HQ too but since I’m Not on my desktop here’s resized screencaps as examples.

Now these, are much, much better. I have always loved the first photo especially.

Did Abbey Road even have that much impact that it would push her into more of a legacy act territory? I love it as a project but I don’t think they were strategically trying to present her as more of an adult contemporary act.

On the other hand, I refuse to believe it’s 10 years since Kiss Me Once next year - it feels like yesterday.

It was a heavily promoted project—probably the most heavily promoted K25 project. She did Friday Night With Jonathan Ross, Strictly Come Dancing, Royal Variety Show, X Factor Italy, X Factor UK, Alan Carr: Chatty Man, The Wendy Williams Show, Dancing With The Stars and The Tonight Show With Jay Leno. And the styling from that era was very adult contemporary.

However, I don't think that it was intentional or strategic—it was just the logical way to present the project—but it had the unintended consequence of making Kylie feel more like a heritage act.

I still hate the album artwork for The Abbey Road Sessions.

The 'Flower' cover shot is so stunning it makes me sad it wasn't the album cover.

Even after all these years, I can’t shake off the memory of someone on another forum commenting that Kylie looks like she’s “smelling a fart” in that pic.
