Kylie Minogue

There were just too many potential singles on Light Years.

Butterfly
is the one whose lack of release hurts me most. It would've made a perfect segue towards the dancier direction of Fever.
US Club Single baybeeeeeee (and apparently it did so well that it is the reason we ended up getting CGYOOMH so it’s a bit important).

I still think Parlo picked the right four singles even if they’re not my faves off the album.

It did, I remember seeing photos at the time. Weren’t loads of ppl there like.
Sorry but that is utter cringe, did London gays not have other expensive things to do back then?

Everytime this comes up - they all need to understand that "Your Disco" would have done crickets at UK radio in 2000/2001, as the only two people allowed to be camp in UK pop back then were Robbie and Geri, both of whom had single sales 8x what Kylie was doing at that point. That's just the way it was.

And also Geri's career crashed immediately after releasing a cover of "It's Raining Men". She ended up in the box that Parlophone were rightly worried that Kylie could end up in. Sitting next to Sheena Easton and her Fabulous album.

I was never particularly into Spinning Around and was surprised it was so big for her, but glad at the same time. Plus she released it on my birthday.

I hate how Hazell Dean sings it, she’s too loud/shouty (and also find the backing track for her version plodding). Kylie’s vocal is clean and clear, and sings it with so much more emotion.

It’s a shame Kylie’s version wasn’t the final single off the album in the UK (sorry “It’s No Secret”), SAW was right thinking it was single worthy (enough to pass it onto someone else).
