Kylie singles rate

Make that 3.. It's the only Kylie single I really can't stand.
There aren't many pop songs I'd give the score I gave it. Usually pop is at least listenable, which would already mean a 6 from me.
Celebration is just.. yuk.

I might start the results tonight actually as Ive been quite surprised at the amount of responces. Im actually looking forward to seeing the results too as Ive obviously not started working it out yet.

I wonder where 2 Hearts will end up, and if people have made their peace with it by now. I haven't.

DRUM ROLL.......In last position at.......

45. Celebration 4/10

Released in 1992 Kylies version reached number 20 in the UK charts marking her lowest 'official' release up to that point in her career.

'Celebration' came out when the last she needed was another generic cover, after 'give me just a little more time' earlier in the same year. It was also such a well known song that no-one was ever going to play Kylie's version over the original. It felt really half hearted even at the time. I'm amazed they seemed to spend a fair few quid on a video for a song that was always doomed to flop. Even the CD single cover was lame.

It just sounds joyless. Which is unbelievable, considering everything. It's the right choice for last place, really.

It's quite poignant that both Kylie and Madonna signed off their Greatest Hits with lacklustre songs called Celebration

Hahaaw yeah ive never thought of that before. Although I have to say even though Im a bigger Kylie fan I definately prefer Madonnas Celebration song.

45. Celebration 4/10
44. Tears On My Pillow 4.52/10

Another Kylie cover version, released in 1990 this became her 4th number 1 single in the UK and was her final number 1 single for a decade until Spinning around in 2000.

Whilst it makes sense as the theme to 'the delinquents' it kind of shows where PWL possibly saw Kylie heading to next, kind of musical theatre and ballads. Thank God she met Hutchence and became sexKylie!

I'm not surprised Celebration came last - there's just nothing to it and I never listen to it. The Techno Rave Remix does salvage it somewhat. Tears On My Pillow is OK but sounds really dated now (it did even at the time!) and not a favourite of mine.

I'm really interested to see which of her Parlophone tracks does the worst.

I guess that last place right! Celebration is so boring and there was no point in it.

I like Tears on My Pillow quite a bit actually, I think I gave it an 8.

45. Celebration 4/10
44. Tears On My Pillow 4.52/10
43. If You Were With Me Now 5.39/10

Released as the 2nd single from Kylies final studio album with PWL, Lets Get To It, this song peaked at number 4 in November 1991. Remarcably selling better than the albums lead single Word is out.

Sad to see "Tears On My Pillow" so low, at the time it was an easy, obvious #1 despite being the FOURTH single from an album that sold well over a million. Loved it at the time but I much prefer the other 3 singles, to this day I can never get enough of them.
