"Stars" feels it could've been much better if the production wasn't so polished and made the song completely sterile. I like it, but there's not much to grasp on, and therefore gave it a 7.
And am I the only only one who can hear a bit of Robyn (during the "Body Talk" era) in that chorus?

Forgot to mention that "So Now Goodbye" is probably the most filler-ish track from "Light Years", but I really like the song and how it captures the disco vibe. The verses are very, very good and the chorus is really catchy, so it's a bit surprising it left before the top 100.
It got a 7,5 from me and could've done a bit better.

Catching up, so many eliminations I missed oop

Radio On - 10
YES, this is exactly what I wanted to hear when she announced the concept for Golden, even if it suffers just a little bit from the thinness of the mix. I adore the background vocals in the post-chorus and the bridge. One of the best things she’s ever written.

Your Love - 9.5 What I love about this one is its similarity to many bsides and unreleased songs of that era and I think of Body Language and X’ ones too? It’s probably the guitar that makes me think of that comparison. Once I dived into her more unknown material, it gave me a new appreciation for this one.

So Now Goodbye - 6 This is the start of Light Years’ overall style I have a hard time getting into. It’s disco, which I love, but in such a stereotypical way in the melodies that it irks me and makes me feel conflicted about the album’s direction.

Sexercize - 5 See, contrary to my stance on other Kiss Me Once songs, I never understood the love for this one. It felt so dated on arrival, and she doesn’t sell the sound she’s going for at all, and it all comes down to the production to me. Perhaps with more atmospheric flourishes, and less dubstep-y beeps, 808s, and grating vocal chopping, it would have aged much better.

Stars - 9 Talk about another style I’d love her to tackle again. Electro-y pop rock fits her perfectly.

I don't mind Stars, but in all honesty, the X stuff is so hard to get excited about that it can leave in any order it likes. A lot of nothing in expensive wrapping.

Poor Kylie on the cover of this next one...

Higher (With Taio Cruz) 7.16

Highest Score: 10 x 4 @Sprockrooster, @hawkings24, @Ana Raquel, @Untouchable Ace
Lowest Score: 2 x 1 @fatyoshi

@Sprockrooster - 10 Remember when miss Taio was relevant. Remember we had big pop man we could stan for problem free. Easier times.
@Ana Raquel - 10 Would you trust someone who doesn't say the version with her is the best??? I wouldn't!!!!!
@Untouchable Ace - 10 I also like the Jade Ewen version.
@hawkings24 - 10 What a banger.

@Ugly Beauty - 9 I used to get my life to this but you know it still low key slaps, remember when Taio Cruz was everywhere?? glad that's behind us now.
@Hudweiser - 8 Still rage at Radio 1 for selecting an edit without Kylie in it. Ageist fuckheads.
@nanafan - 8 Often forgotten but a string track and a deserved big hit. Should have had a place on Step Back In Time.
@Andsov - 7.5 This is the sort of song I usually just ignore, it does nothing for me. But Kylie really brings something special to everything she touches, and this is no exception.

@Maki - 7.5 This is so late 00's it hurts. However, there's something endearing about it, especially in the chorus.
@M24 - 5.5 Sounds very 2010, but I kind of like it? Oops. Wonder where Taio Cruz is at now, though I only know Break Your Heart and Dynamite so I don't miss him to be honest.
@MrJames - 5 No thank you.
@mrdonut - 4 I won’t miss the early 2010s EDM era.

Good riddance. You just knew Higher would have a shelf life of two weeks MAX when it was released.

The one thing about Stars that I will always remember is Kylie's absolute conviction when she performed it during the Anti Tour
