Je Ne Sais Pas Pourquoi 7.47

Highest Score: 10 x 11 @WhatKindOfKylie?, @SinceYouTookYourPopAway, @Jacques, @mrdonut, @Reboot, @Cowboystyle, @VeryPSB, @AGiantSheep, @letuinmybackdoor,
@Remorque, @Gnuh Gnuh
Lowest Score: 0 x 1 @SlowGinFizzzz

@mrdonut - 10 A gorgeous sad banger ahead of its time (‘time-time-time’) with S/A/W dishing out some wonderfully bittersweet lyrics. I remember at the time of release, despite being a young kid, that this is when Kylie felt more than a one-trick-pony/budgie. Even my brothers who were into U2 (!) agreed.
@hawkings24 - 9 One of my favourite PWL singles by far, I was so glad she brought it back for Summer 2019.

@Hudweiser - 9 My favourite international single from the album.
@nanafan - 8 Classy. SAW do French, again. Kylie’s acting in the first bit of the video is iconic. “It is af past siiiix”, love it.
@Andsov - 8 Kylie - crying at the disco since 1988.

@CasperFan - 8 I thought this was an odd choice of single at the time but it was nice to have a more downtempo song as a single and this still sounds great today. Glad it had a long overdue live performance last year.
@Maki - 8 I was interested after seeing the French title. Definitely feels a bit more mature than the majority of the album, which is a plus. The verses are lovely, although there's something odd with the chorus that I can't explain... sounds like it lacks something. Anyways, it's a great song.
@M24 - 7 I like the verses a lot, but the chorus drags the song down: I personally expect more from it after the "I-I.. I'm wondering why" buildup!

"Je Ne Sais Pas Pourquoi" deserved a bit better, but it could've been worse. Anyways, I'm surprised to see it leave at this point.

It's a great song, but, like @M24 said, the chorus lets it down, which prevented me from giving it a higher score than an 8.

This one hurts! How did it fare in the last rate?

It reached #14 of the PWL section with an 8.19 average.

No More Rain 7.49

Highest Score: 10 x 6 @WhatKindOfKylie?, @m_dimitrov, @DJHazey,
@hawkings24, @Crisp X, @Remorque
Lowest Score: 2 x 1 @Ramalama

@hawkings24 - 10 What an unreal piece of music this is.
@nanafan - 9.5 Love this. What a moment on the tour with a glitter drop fall. Personal and well put together. She shouldn’t have had to fight to get this on the album.
@Hudweiser - 9 I'd have preferred this be a single than almost everything else that was.

@CasperFan - 9 This song really clicked for me on the X tour-really uplifting.
@Verandi - 9 Used to skip this one, now I love it. Lush!
@mrdonut - 6 Adore the sentiment, just wish I loved the song more.
@M24 - 4 Cute.. Kind of boring though.

He/Him
Je Ne Sais Pas Pourquoi should appeal to Berserky for using some French in a cute way, and it mostly does except for the melody being a little stilted in parts - and the tune does not really lead into a satisfying phonetical conclusion for the French lyric imo. A cute girl next to gorgeous of French usage by Kylie in Gay Rights Your Disco Needs You!

No More Rain sounds like "we're going for the Ray Of Light sound but we can't afford William Orbit" which is especially strange because Kylie actually could.

That's the way she was treated her entire Parlo career, no?

Totally could've afforded Timbaland for whatever they were going for with Red Blooded Woman, but they just... didn't bother.

"No More Rain" just does nothing to me. Nice lyrics, but there is something annoying about the song that puts me off. I gave it a 6, and it was among my lowest remaining scores.

No More Rain is... cute? It's just really, really forgettable. I think the only time I've ever actively and consciously put in on and listened to it was when I was doing my scores (and right now, as I'm typing this). I don't skip it when it comes on, but it would never even occur to me to listen to this specific song.
