A lot of the meh X tracks really came to life in a live setting and are some of my favourite Kylie performances ever - No More Rain on the X Tour with the extended intro and the visuals was just divine.

After finally being reunited with my bf 3 weeks ago after over 3 months apart I've not really been on here much at all but as I'm now on night shift, over the last 3 nights I've caught up on about 40 pages! There's far too much to comment on so I'll comment on the 2 10's I've just lost.

If I Can't Have You - My favourite of all the 7 Garibay songs, it's just euphoric and one of my absolute favourite recent Kylie songs.

Je Ne Sais Pas Pourquoi - I've always loved this song but after seeing it performed at Glastonbury my love was heightened for it, and then seeing this and Never Too Late at the SBIT summer concert have just made me love gem both so much more.

he / him
I used to stan Taio Cruz back in the day during his Departure era, but his music did become really generic after his debut. I would've been here for a Kylie × Taio collaboration if it was more along the lines with "She's Like A Star" and less like "Higher."

Like @WhatKindOfKylie?, I'm surprised that "I Don't Need Anyone" was considered as a possible lead single for Impossible Princess; Deconstruction were really keen on having a Manic Street Preachers track as the lead single, weren't they?

"Too Much" should've made the Top 100, in my opinion. I know that most people are disappointed by it because it doesn't meet expectations considering the talent involved, but I love it; it should've been the third single from Aphrodite.

"If I Can't Have You" should've made the Top 50. It's such a bop. I really wish that it'd appeared on a mainline project because I genuinely feel like it's so slept on.

I quite like "Jump," but as lead single? I don't see that for her.

I'd never heard the demo version of "No More Rain" before and I assumed that I'd prefer it, but it didn't really do it for me either. I feel like "No More Rain" could've been a good track if it had an entire production overhaul.

I've seen this one mentioned recently...

Je Ne Sais Pas Pourquoi 7.47

Highest Score: 10 x 11 @WhatKindOfKylie?, @SinceYouTookYourPopAway, @Jacques, @mrdonut, @Reboot, @Cowboystyle, @VeryPSB, @AGiantSheep, @letuinmybackdoor,
@Remorque, @Gnuh Gnuh
Lowest Score: 0 x 1 @SlowGinFizzzz

@mrdonut - 10 A gorgeous sad banger ahead of its time (‘time-time-time’) with S/A/W dishing out some wonderfully bittersweet lyrics. I remember at the time of release, despite being a young kid, that this is when Kylie felt more than a one-trick-pony/budgie. Even my brothers who were into U2 (!) agreed.
@hawkings24 - 9 One of my favourite PWL singles by far, I was so glad she brought it back for Summer 2019.

@Hudweiser - 9 My favourite international single from the album.
@nanafan - 8 Classy. SAW do French, again. Kylie’s acting in the first bit of the video is iconic. “It is af past siiiix”, love it.
@Andsov - 8 Kylie - crying at the disco since 1988.

@CasperFan - 8 I thought this was an odd choice of single at the time but it was nice to have a more downtempo song as a single and this still sounds great today. Glad it had a long overdue live performance last year.
@Maki - 8 I was interested after seeing the French title. Definitely feels a bit more mature than the majority of the album, which is a plus. The verses are lovely, although there's something odd with the chorus that I can't explain... sounds like it lacks something. Anyways, it's a great song.
@M24 - 7 I like the verses a lot, but the chorus drags the song down: I personally expect more from it after the "I-I.. I'm wondering why" buildup!

.

If I had it my way this would've swapped places with It's No Secret. My least favorite single from the debut.

I've never understood the love for "What Kind Of Fool." It's not even one of the better PWL singles.
Fair enough, I don;t think even Kylie herself like it after all! Personally, have always found it quite a fun bop and adore everything about it. From the song itself, to the hot pink single artwork, and the music video too.

Better the Devil You Know
What Do I Have to Do?
Step Back in Time
Shocked
Je ne sais pas pourquoi

...are 5 genuinely great PWL tracks. Everything else from that era ranges from meh to NO!

Some people ain't gonna be happy with this next one going...

@hawkings24 - 10 One of my favourite PWL songs, another one I'm glad that made an appearance in the Golden Tour.
@Andsov - 10 It's low-key one of her best PWL efforts. I will never tire of this song.
@CasperFan - 9.5 Often neglected (thank you Golden Tour) loved it at the time, nice change of sound with the more laid back drums etc. Cracking song!

@nanafan - 9 A great record. Great to see it shine in the Golden Tour as it’s a favourite. There is a terrible edit in the Your Thang Mix though.
@M24 - 9 Wonderful love song. For the lyrics alone, I think it has the edge over "Hand On Your Heart" in my scores.
@Maki - 7.5 Another PWL Kylie the numbers at the surface. However, there's something sophisticated in the chorus which makes it stand out a bit. Very pleasant song, but not a standout.

@mrdonut - 7 I’m more positive about this than most people because at least for once S/A/W sort-of tried a different drum effect.
@Hudweiser - 7 The very first single I ever bought myself. It's No Secret' was the b-side, which irked 10-year-old me as I already had that. Curiously, I don't like it so much anymore.
@Verandi - 1.5 I would.
@Untouchable Ace - 5 Offensively inoffensive.
