It's shocking that "Loving Days" left so early. My favourite song from "Body Language" and one of my ultimate Kylie favourites (surely in my top 10).
It's a stunner of a track from beginning to to the end. Truly her "Ray of Light" / "Northern Star" moment, which also has slight reminiscence to "Impossible Princess". Those strings combined with the trip hoppy beat and her gorgeous vocals is something special for sure. The melody is absolute perfection, and so are the harmonies and the detailed production. A shame she never did anything similar to this beautiful song. I can envision the music video with Kylie standing on a brink, while the waves are crashing down.
An atmospheric and drop dead gorgeous masterpiece.

There are so many songs that unfairly surpassed it, I don't even know where to begin.

I know that "Secret (Take You Home)" was the qinning non-single from "Body Language", but really hoped that "Loving Days" would take it this time.
Honestly, I thought it had top 50 placekent on lock - such a pity it didn't and that resulted in my biggest loss so far. Shame on you for doing it wrong. At least it received a heartwarming amount of 10's from 14 tasteful voters, which is nice to see.

Cursed thumbnail.

Anyway, I'm mad about certain eliminations:

Still Standing - 8.5 For some reason, it sounds like a continuation of Burning Up’s chorus melodically, while foreshadowing some of the electro template of X. In short, it’s a slapper.

More More More - 10 Her vocal performance melts me down everytime. She’s reinvented herself brilliantly during this era. I can’t think of a better opener, perfectly setting the tone for the disco euphoria that permeates Fever.

Loving Days - 9 Impossible Princess Kylie strikes again and I can’t get enough of it.

Music's Too Sad Without You (With Jack Savoretti) - 10 This will get tanked, and I know I’ll have to deal with it. It makes me want to put on Golden Hour. It’s one of the album’s highlights to me, and one of her best duets ever.

But hey, at least I was wrong with the latter's commentary as it outlasted many deep cuts!

I never got 'Still standing', there's the bare bones of a decent song there but it just descends into a mess of stuttery nonsense, like everyone involved went 'Hey let's take a 'Kylie' song but, you know, make it 'less Kylie'.

Surrender 7.71

Highest Score: 10 x 8 @WhatKindOfKylie?, @clowezra, @SlowGinFizzzz, @hawkings24,
@IntoTheBlue, @abael, @Robert, @Ramalama
Lowest Score: 2 x 1 @Holly Something

@Hudweiser - 9 Could've been a single.
@nanafan - 7 Solid album track, wonder why it was remixed?
@mrdonut - 7 I find it hard to get excited by Surrender, although it’s certainly not made for skipping. The absence of PWL’s double tracking over Kylie’s vocals is SUCH a tonic.
@Maki - 7 This was a bit boring at first, but I managed to appreciate how sensual the song sounds. While the melody doesn't really grab me, it just flows so nicely. Oh, and the production is so crisp and lush. I've just bumped its score a bit because of that.
@M24 - 6 It's cute but not a favorite of mine.

What Kind of Tastlessness to see its stance in the PWL rankings drop like this. I remember being right near the top in the last rate. That 0 is painful to see.

Music's Going To Be Just Fine Without You to all the haters who should just quit with music altogether. There's not 80 songs better than it here, not by a long shot! It's grown into probably my #2 all-time Kylie song. This is coming from someone you doesn't usually go for ballads, so that's saying something about how powerful this one is! Now I'm the victim of ballad-phobia, just like in the Ari rate with Just a Little Bit of Your Heart.

It's that time again where I'm going to complain about Bio-Dome and how it completely derailed the KM94 campaign; so many good songs that missed out on being made into a single and "Surrender" being one of them. I would've preferred "Surrender" as a single over "Where Is The Feeling," tbh.

I don't think there is a third single from 'Kylie Minogue'. The first two were such good quality and the most commercially appealing. Realistically, Where is the feeling as a single is to all extents a completely different song. I just don't think any of the other songs would have been hits either and that's not a reflection of their quality.

I've always felt that "If I Was Your Lover" and "Surrender" were obvious single choices. That being said, I didn't hear KM94 until like a decade after its release and I don't know what the musical landscape was like in 1994–1995.

The most successful single option would have been 'Where is the feeling' had it been released early in 95 as the Bish Bosh mix but I doubt it would have charted that much higher than it did. deCon were trying not to be too 'Kylie' in their approach to releases. If that album was released today then they'd have had 3 singles, waited, released 'Wild roses' and moved on to another era.

This is a shock I think...

@Maki - 9.5 My favourite song from this album. Such a racket! Those strings are wonderful, too. And we have a middle-8, which is a rarity on this album. The chorus is fantastic and it's a shame that the verses are weaker than it, because the song would've received a 10 from me if that was the case.
@nanafan - 9 Pure Kylie pop and an iconic Kylie look. I saw the TOTP clip recently and it just shows why Kylie is the ultimate pop star. Should have been a number one

@madgemad - 8.5 Glorious both ways, the Abbey Road version is devastatingly good.
@M24 - 8.5 The chorus is so euphoric! The verses are a bit boring though. It's still a 9, at least.
@Andsov - 8 I love when Kylie is sad on the dancefloor. The Abbey Roads rendition was lovely too.

@MrJames - 8 I’ve always loved this one a little bit more than the other single from Enjoy Yourself. I adore the video too.
@CasperFan - 8 I love this but I guess it was a bit SAW by numbers though at this point. Extra points of course for the gorgeous middle-8.
@mrdonut - 7 It’s the Abbey Road version of this for me, every time.
@Epic Chocolat - 7 I like the SAW recognizable beat at the beginning.
