I enjoy this song and and yet, won't miss it being out somehow either.
I have never even heard the original now! Maybe I should just leave it that way then?...This. And the worst part was that when it was announced as the lead single, we'd all heard the Kish Mauve version and we'd all convinced ourselves that despite being a cover, it'd have completely different production. How wrong we were.
You don't have to listen to it if you don't want to, but for those of y'all who never heard the Kish Mauve original, here it is.I have never even heard the original now! Maybe I should just leave it that way then?...
It reminds me of Stand Up off Cheryl's debut. A supposedly euphoric floorfiller that absolutely refuses to show any sign of life at all, with a vocal performance that might as well be a McDonald's order for all the passion or commitment involved. The Pete Hammond remix greatly improves it, but "Put Your Hands Up (If You Feel In Love)" isn't particularly good, is it? I do like the verses, but the chorus feels so limp. I'm surprised that it was one of the songs on Aphrodite that was pegged as a single before the album's release that was still a single after plans had changed and I'm surprised that it made it as far as it did in this rate.

I wish that Kylie had opted for "Come On" instead. Now that is a bop that I wouldn't have minded receiving a direct cover of.I actually bought their EP with this and 'Come on' which Will Young ended up recording. He at least made an effort recording his version!
I agree, that's such a great song, prefer to 2 Hearts to be honest.I wish that Kylie had opted for "Come On" instead. Now that is a bop that I wouldn't have minded receiving a direct cover of.
