  1. The One - 10. The opening is like Kylie using Morse code to contact us from on high. The chorus is akin to a chant, hymn, or affirmation. The song goes into a totally new wondrous place for the last minute. The synths are gorgeous and Kylie's vocals, including her harmonies, are transcendent.

  2. I am shook. I thought Love At First Sight or The One could've taken the whole thing. Slow has done better than I thought it would.

  3. All The Lovers is lower than I expected? As is Love At First Sight.

Better The Devil You Know is... so high. I'd probably say it's her best PWL track but still. I suppose it's massively benefitting from the 11 for each era.

  4. Genuinely shocked that Love At First Sight didn't make top 5 at least.

That said, I've got 5 10s and an 11 left so I can't be too pressed.

  5. Oh was I previously its lowest scorer? Well my feelings for it haven’t changed so fingers crossed!

  6. So you're calling these 8 songs that are considered her absolute best by the forum and publications alike...generic? Make it make sense.

  7. I never realized that y'all rated "Get Outta My Way" so highly. It's one of those songs that if I voted, I would've given a 10, but then regretted it and wished that I'd given an 8 instead.

This might be a controversial statement, but I think that Kylie's best material is her pre-2007 material.
For me, it's all about the original. I find the Freemasons mix really disappointing because most of their remixes from that era really transformed the songs that they were remixing, whereas their remix of "The One" feels like the same song but faster to me.

  8. nn imagine if Better The Devil You Know ends up taking this because it nabbed so many 11s from people who aren't too fond of the PWL stuff...

    Slow for the upset.

  9. The One being out is a shock, but in a way am glad as that means another song can have a chance at winning it this time!

  10. I feel like both Love At First and The One are the songs who I wanted to see to win the most after my 11 Red Blooded Woman left. I do not know now.

  11. The Freemasons remix went OFF in a club though.

  12. The way the single release of The One was handled, seemed like a sign looking back at how the rest of the Parlophone period would end up going...

  13. As someone who’s only familiar with Kylie singles (and about to embark on exploring the albums) I’d say that Get Outta My Way is ‘top 15’ Kylie, but ‘top 5’...?

My current top ranking would probably be:
    15. Wow
    14. Get Outta My Way
    13. In My Arms
    12. All The Lovers
    11. Chocolate
    10. Put Yourself In My Place
    9. The One
    8. Come Into My World
    7. In Your Eyes
    6. Say Something
    5. Love At First Sight
    4. Slow
    3. Can’t Get You Out Of My Head
    2. I Believe In You
    1. Confide In Me

  14. @hawkings24 - 11 I literally adore this song with every fibre of my being, and an undeniable 11 from me.
@clowezra - 11 It was between this and Automatic Love, but this is just an undeniable, perfect song. Paired with it's video, it's a masterclass in pop music.
@Holly Something - 11 My number 1 favourite Kylie song. I know Confide In Me will steal all the spotlight of this era but this is such a gorgeous ballad, and final "in my plaaaaaaccceeee" adlib is incredible.

@Hudweiser - 10 Just beautiful. I loved the video, even if she took the same sleeve off twice.
@mrdonut - 10 Is this the most immorally undervalued Kylie song of all time critically and commercially? I’d say it’s her most underappreciated video too.
@Andsov - 10 I was slightly disappointed with Put Yourself In My Place after the mighty Confide In Me, but I quickly learned to love it. I don't think I will ever tire of it.

@CasperFan - 9.5 Kylie’s best ballad? I think so, gorgeous, stunning video and needs to be sung live again, been way too long.
@nanafan - 9 Classy and mature. I listen to it less these days than at the time but it's a great single and an iconic video.
@MrJames - 7.5 A great song but I have to be in the mood to listen to it to really appreciate it. I’m not often in the mood to listen to it.

@Verandi - 7.5 "What if we make a PWL song but, you know, good?" Say no more!
@M24 - 7 I like the lyrics but the song itself is not my favorite, even if it's grown on me a bit. I feel like the verses kind of bore me to death (before the chorus comes in and sweeps me away).

  15. I knew Put Yourself In My Place wouldn't beat the almighty Confide In Me but I'm glad it managed to make it this far, and received so many 11s!!! honestly I love you all fellow 11-givers!

  16. Damn, I was hoping that "Put Yourself In My Place" would make it into the Top 5, solely because it would've been so impressive for a ballad to make it into the Top 5 of a rate. And the fact that it was "Put Yourself In My Place," Kylie's best ballad, would've made it even better. However, No. 6 is still very impressive.

  17. Yes!
"Put Yourself in My Place" may be Kylie's most overrated song. Listening to it for the first time for this rate had me so disappointed. I just don't get what other people hear in it - it's just a typical 90's ballad that seems to be too AC for Kylie, but has great vocals and production. Also, the melody does pretty much nothing to me. In fact, it's my least favourite song from "Kylie Minogue" and I couldn't bring myself to give it a score higher than a 6.5. The music video may be my favourite thing about the song, actually.

"Confide in Me" remains one of the best songs of all time and "Put Yourself in My Place" can only wish to have even 5% of magic that song has.

    P.S. Thank you, @OSHi!

  18. I was beginning to think and hope that Put Yourself In My Place would make top 5, but it just missed out. Still, look at those high scores! 16 #11s? Wonderful to see and much deserved. This really is the ultimate Kylie ballad and her best vocal performance on any single for me. I absolutely love this song!

  19. I wish there was a "Dislike" button for this post.

  20. This is the first thing I checked when I woke up this morning so my delirious ass thought Confide in Me had actually missed the top 5 but then I saw I was, in fact, wrong

Put Yourself in My Place did so much better than I thought it would and I was secretly hoping it would be a top 5 song but alas, the top 5 is still an elite set of songs!
