The One - 10. The opening is like Kylie using Morse code to contact us from on high. The chorus is akin to a chant, hymn, or affirmation. The song goes into a totally new wondrous place for the last minute. The synths are gorgeous and Kylie's vocals, including her harmonies, are transcendent.

I never realized that y'all rated "Get Outta My Way" so highly. It's one of those songs that if I voted, I would've given a 10, but then regretted it and wished that I'd given an 8 instead.

For me, it's all about the original. I find the Freemasons mix really disappointing because most of their remixes from that era really transformed the songs that they were remixing, whereas their remix of "The One" feels like the same song but faster to me.
The One being out is a shock, but in a way am glad as that means another song can have a chance at winning it this time!
I feel like both Love At First and The One are the songs who I wanted to see to win the most after my 11 Red Blooded Woman left. I do not know now.
The Freemasons remix went OFF in a club though.
The way the single release of The One was handled, seemed like a sign looking back at how the rest of the Parlophone period would end up going...

@clowezra - 11 It was between this and Automatic Love, but this is just an undeniable, perfect song. Paired with it's video, it's a masterclass in pop music.
@Holly Something - 11 My number 1 favourite Kylie song. I know Confide In Me will steal all the spotlight of this era but this is such a gorgeous ballad, and final "in my plaaaaaaccceeee" adlib is incredible.
@Hudweiser - 10 Just beautiful. I loved the video, even if she took the same sleeve off twice.
@mrdonut - 10 Is this the most immorally undervalued Kylie song of all time critically and commercially? I’d say it’s her most underappreciated video too.
@Andsov - 10 I was slightly disappointed with Put Yourself In My Place after the mighty Confide In Me, but I quickly learned to love it. I don't think I will ever tire of it.
@CasperFan - 9.5 Kylie’s best ballad? I think so, gorgeous, stunning video and needs to be sung live again, been way too long.

Damn, I was hoping that "Put Yourself In My Place" would make it into the Top 5, solely because it would've been so impressive for a ballad to make it into the Top 5 of a rate. And the fact that it was "Put Yourself In My Place," Kylie's best ballad, would've made it even better. However, No. 6 is still very impressive.

"Put Yourself in My Place" may be Kylie's most overrated song. Listening to it for the first time for this rate had me so disappointed. I just don't get what other people hear in it - it's just a typical 90's ballad that seems to be too AC for Kylie, but has great vocals and production. Also, the melody does pretty much nothing to me. In fact, it's my least favourite song from "Kylie Minogue" and I couldn't bring myself to give it a score higher than a 6.5. The music video may be my favourite thing about the song, actually.

I was beginning to think and hope that Put Yourself In My Place would make top 5, but it just missed out. Still, look at those high scores! 16 #11s? Wonderful to see and much deserved. This really is the ultimate Kylie ballad and her best vocal performance on any single for me. I absolutely love this song!
