Keep kicking out these Christmas non-original songs, because I didn't rate any of them, haha!
I expected even more of them to leave by now.

I'm not a fan of "Santa Baby", so anyone singing that song couldn't improve it much. Kylie does a good job in her cover, but it's just a bit too boring. I would score it a 5.5, if not a bit lower.
Funny how it was first released as a B-side to "Please Stay", which is one of her most summery songs.

What I find surprising is that "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town" is still around, when it was literally the second song to leave the Parlophone rate. I didn't listen to the song, but how did that happen?

When I first heard 'Whistle' I gave it 8, then lowered it to a 6 when I submitted for some reason, but wish I'd stuck with my original score. I'm a big Sigur Ros fan and it's in the same mould but less orchestral and more electronic. Kylie's voice suits the production.

'Santa Baby' is fine but I prefer the original Eartha Kitt version (which Valentina should have quoted more of in her Allstars 4 Snatch Game).

The problem with Christmas music is the relentless ubiquity of it and the sane 20-30 songs on constant rotation everywhere. The ones going so far are mostly those ones we've heard a million times, the newer ones do sound great and I actively seek out at Christmas.

I do like a majority of Kylie Christmas (none of what's left so far, really) but didn't rate it, aside from Night Fever and Everybody's Free. It would have felt weird to give Christmas Isn't Christmas the 10 it so clearly is alongside her non-Christmas 10's.

Satan Baby is one of the only Christmas songs I can listen to at anytime without getting sick. Kylie's version only.
I haven’t heard this version yet.

So, this should've gone out just after 'Wonderful Christmastime'... *hides*

Santa Claus is Comin' To Town (Feat. Frank Sinatra) 4.85

Highest Score: 10 x 1 @Sprockrooster
Lowest Score: 0.5 x 1 @One Stop Candy Shop

@nanafan - 4.5 One of my least favourite on the album, the “duet” doesn’t work and would have been better as a solo.
@M24 - 3.5 I was prepared to hate it, because come on, I'm not a fan of posthumous duets and how off and unnatural they usually feel. This was not the case! Could've fit well on Sinatra's Duets. I prefer it to his single version.

Thank you!

and yeah I had put a 1 for the write-up, but then on the commentary it said 4 so I got a bit confused. The spreadsheet has it as a 1.

Don't worry, it was entirely my fault! I hope I didn't make the same mistake somewhere else.

Losing "Santa Baby" so early makes me sad.. it was my second highest scored song on the christmas album (you all can guess which is my highest).

Oh well, as long as we don't lose "Stay Another Day", "At Christmas" and "2000 Miles" (these three round up my top five), I'll be alright with whatever else has to go from the album.

Limpido (With Laura Pausini) 5.71

Highest Score: 9.5 x 2 @SlowGinFizzzz, @Phonetics Boy
Lowest Score: 0 x 1 @WhatKindOfKylie?

@nanafan - 8 One of the better wilderness duets. This is a good solid pop track. The English version, Radiant, is worth checking out too.
@CasperFan - 7 Very Eurovision!
@Andsov - 6 The song itself is crap. But again, Kylie works her magic and lifts it to tolerable heights.
@M24 - 5 I like the song a lot, just wish Kylie had sang that chorus in Italian: the English version of the chorus doesn't sound as good without the "Lascerò!" part.
@mrdonut - 3 the song you hear in an H&M changing room.

.

I quite enjoyed this too. Although I listened to the Spanish version as I know more Spanish than Italian. It’s nice to hear Kylie song in Spanish. Apart from Los Amores and Your Disco Needs You there aren’t any other songs where she sings in Spanish are there?

I would have given Santa Claus Is Coming To Town a 8 again as I love the Big Band style but I wish Posthumous duets weren’t a thing as it makes me uncomfortable.

I scored this a 1 originally and when I revisited Limpido this time round I realised that was probably too harsh. This time I went with a 5 cause it’s not that bad as a song but it’s just incredibly whelming.
