4 from me. I appreciate it but not enough to give it a higher score. That backstage version was probably the first version I actually liked. The song itself is fine. I just don’t think Kylie suits these types of songs. It’s almost like she’s trying too hard. The twang in her voice in the verses just really irritates me.

I was expecting this but it still hurts, I Was Gonna Cancel, thank god that's out, The two KMO songs that have gone out were my lowest from that album.

HOW did Nu-Di-Ty go out before the snoozefest that is Cosmic and the inoffensive yet grating All I See? And WHERE the fuck is One Last Kiss

I feel sorry for the Nu-Di-Ty stans, I did not expect it to bomb out before other experimental Parlophone era songs like Mr President (whenever that's supposed to happen). I gave it a 6 and I thought that was a fair score.. with further listens it got less grating and I could sort of appreciate it a bit more. Same for I Was Gonna Cancel.

At the same time, I must admit I'm happy other eras are taking a hit instead of simply the PWL era, even if the carnage should eventually continue because I gave out plenty of 5-6s for a few not-so-special album tracks still here. Before they have to go though, I'd like some more Christmas songs to leave, Cosmic, After Dark, This Wheel's On Fire and especially Chasing Ghosts, which for some reason is still here even if Kylie gives up half a song to the featured artist.

Mess. I knew it was divisive, but in no way it deserved to leave so early.

@Verandi was correct, "Nu-di-ty" was the song where my first reaction was:
When I first heard it, I expected to hate it, but I actually gave it a 9 in the end. The way it just takes unexpected twists and turns and made me very intrigued, and the production is all kinds of bonkers in an excellent way. Kind of reminds me of some album tracks from Gwen's "Sweet Escape". Like, it's basically a cacophony and should be bad, but it manages to be excellent and I enjoy it nonetheless. Those outrageous vocal bits, the minimalistic and weird yet punchy production elements, the unconventional melody choices... it all works for me apart from those rap/sing bits.
Actually, it's in my top 3 from "X", sorry not sorry.

And the revelation that "Nu-di-ty" brought me (and perhaps what made me increase its score a bit) was that one of the YouTube channels I used to listen old French music at, notably France Gall (who is my all-time favourite artist, by the way) is called nounoudydy and actually uses the chopped "nudity" bit from the song as its intro and outro.
Example:

I've always found the intro amusing, as it was very memorable, and thought it was "custom-made" and now, after about 10 years, in this unexpected turns of events, finally found out which song it is. Kind of feels rewarding in an odd way.

Anyways... how did the snoozefest that is "Someday" and the extremely annoying "The Loco-Motion", among many other songs, outlasted both "I Was Gonna Canel" and "Nu-di-ty"?
Some of her most interesting, dare I say experimental, songs getting trashed among the sea of weaker and much more basic songs. Not deserving at all.

Nu-Di-Ty is all about Bloodshy and Avant’s production while Kylie’s plays a secondary roll on it.

The X tour performance is amazing though. I love how Kylie and co really utilised the video stage to its fullest potential for the two divisive album tracks.

Catching up to the last few eliminations:

The hate for I Was Gonna Cancel always baffled me. Sure, the video is a nonentity, but what’s so bad about the song itself? It doesn’t even feel like that much of a Pharrell beat, repetition aside, so it’s not like all the usual complaints about him apply here. I love the synth funk-y vibes, even if it’s not as dynamic as I want… which sounds like a familiar gripe with him though. I can’t help but think of Amerie’s 1 Thing on the “Goooo” parts. I gave it a 6.5.

On Oublie Le Reste should have been one of the first songs to exit when I think about it. It's no surprise I forgot about it once the results started. Completely unnecessary and the sample couldn't be lazier. A 5 sounds more positive than this paragraph though dd.

Nu-Di-Ty is one of my least X faves, despite usualy rooting for the weirdest and most left-field songs. I like the production, which is a lot, but Kylie just feels lost in it and I never can recall anything from it once it's over. A missed opportunity, hence the 6.

Love At First Sight (1988) 5.97

Highest Score: 10 x 4 @WhatKindOfKylie?, @unnameable, @SophiaSophia, @Gnuh Gnuh
Lowest Score: 0 x 1 @SlowGinFizzzz

@nanafan - 8.5 Typical SAW pop. Nice closing track for the album.
@Andsov - 8 Fun. Childish.
@Ana Raquel - 7.5 The Inferior Love At First Sight but still a good song.
@mrdonut - 7 Simultaneously excruciating and amazing.

@Maki - 6.5 Ending it on a very positive note, I see. This is a perfect example of the overly saccharine PWL songs I stray away from. A typical 80's cheesy teen pop filler track. However, it is really catchy, especially the chorus, so it doesn't receive a low score from me.
@M24 6.5 - I like the lyrics, I think she sells this song well. Initially rated this one below Look My Way, now I think I enjoy them equally.
@CasperFan - 6 I like the song but I always found the production lacked something- needed a couple of remixes to get it right I think.
@Verandi - 2.5 Imagine if all these horrific pastiches got a timeless 00s counterpart.
