The betrayal... I'll never forget this!
A bit sad about Koocachoo. It has also grown on me, and fits the vibe I get from the album cover. It reminds me of the kind of music I’d hear on Tony Hawk and SSX videogames, or more prominently on Skateboarding videos so there’s some nostalgia involved too.
Kooachoo is so cute and fun!
I like "Koochachoo", but I can understand why it's out. There are a lot of camp elements to it, like those production quirks yet it remains fun. I like the 60's influences, too, although there's something missing in the melody which prevents me from enjoying it more.
It is one of the weakest songs from "Light Years", but still received a 7 from me. "Kids" should've gone before it.
Now let's get rid of "Someday" and "The Loco-Motion".

@Andsov - 6 I love the sentiment of this song, even if she did it so much better with Jump. The verses are great. Kylie's vocals are good too. But the chorus is a let-down, over-produced and pompous.

@M24 - 2.5 Feels misplaced sonically in this album. It's not catchy either, so I don't know why it was included.
@nanafan - 2 Suffers due to production and the cheesy but personal lyrics. More orchestration would have helped but Stars and No More Rain deal with the subject matter better.

Ah, I adore Cosmic! When I was 16 and first got X, I hated it and it was easily my least favourite. With time though, I really do see it a beautiful ballad and a nice closer.

I will NEVER understand the bizarre indifference this song receives, I think it's absolutely stunning? The 'I wanted to be your lonesome cowboy, I wanted to love you it til it hurt' lyric is campy and brilliant, and the 'I'm here, I'm here' hook is one of her finest. A gorgeous, misunderstood little track.
I love 'Cosmic' as a song, but the production is so basic. It would've been a good choice to revamp for The Abbey Road Sessions.
I don't get the hatred towards "Cosmic". It's a quite lovely ballad, with subtle vocals and some cute melodic moments. I really like the instrumental passage just before the chorus. Yes, a bit of an odd choice for the album closer, but it's not bad by any means.
I gave it a 7.5, despite thinking it's a bit boring. Honestly, I expected Eg White to do something more interesting production-wise, although it remains a pleasant listen.
Could've easily outlasted plenty of songs, but it's not a loss for me.

As with 'I Was Gonna Cancel' and also explained in my commentary for 'Cosmic' my ambivalence stems from their context within their parent album and it's era.
Both songs are just not good enough when you consider the other songs that could have made the album and or the other songs that could have been released as a fully fledged single.
They're just sub-par.

I'm just catching up. Really surprised Heartbeat Rock was the first song to go from X? I've always enjoyed it. I liked the Benny Blanco remix with Spank Rock back in the day.
I also think I Was Gonna Cancel is super underrated.
Anyways, let's leave X and Body Language alone and get back to the PWL eliminations, because everything but Rhythm of Love has a lot of dross to go!

We've shed the shit off X for the most part, the rest is good enough to hang around for a while. We need some Impossible Princess eliminations. Love is a great cut from Golden. I used to love the 1988 Love at First Sight more than I do now, but it was my highest score from the last batches of songs gone (8).
