Someday 6.09

Highest Score: 10 x 3 @hawkings24, @Andsov, @Ramalama
Lowest Score: 0 x 1 @WhatKindOfKylie?

@hawkings24 - 10 It's rackety but done properly
@Andsov - 10 Someday is a career highlight for me, she should get together with Emiliana Torrini again. I love Green Gartsides appearance.
@mrdonut - 8 I quite like Scritti Politti so don’t harbour evil thoughts towards this song as others do. ‘I want my records back / to get my heart on track’ is a superb pop lyric and I want it on a T-shirt.
@Untouchable Ace - 6 Stagnating and skippable.
@M24 - 3.5 Doesn't go anywhere to me. It really drags by the end.
@nanafan - 3 Never been a big fan of this.

Even though Cosmic is correctly placed on X it just stands out too much, White Diamond in ballad form is considerably much better and should have been the token ballad on the album. Even Flower would have been ideal too.

If it wasn’t for the guest male vocal in Someday I would have given it a higher score than I did.

Finally! "Someday" is an utter snooze of a song and one of my lowest scores in the entire rate. It just plods along and makes me yawn, making it my least favourite song from "Body Language". Her voice irks me, because she tries to be sensual and it doesn't work here at all. The male vocals are random and the song ends at the same point it began. At least it isn't too offensive.
I gave it a 5, which seems generous, but it's not a bad song.

Still, I'm very surprised by how long it stayed, especially when compared to the previous rate. I really thought it would be out within first 10-15 eliminations. Better late than never, I guess.

This Wheels On Fire 6.1

Highest Score: 10 x 1 @Sprockrooster
Lowest Score: 1 x 1 @ankh

@Sprockrooster - 10 Kylie always knows how to make something that is campy as fuck hit a new low. I love her. Thank you queen.
@hawkings24 - 9 It's like a 2 Hearts reincarnation.
@mrdonut - 8 Great production. Bloody hell that film was shit though.
@MrJames - 6.5 It’s a bit naff but this song gives me the feels.
@Epic Chocolat - 6.5 Interesting remake.
@nanafan - 4 I find this a bit of a dirge. Was looking forward to this when I heard she was doing it but it falls flat.
@M24 - 2.5 I knew this song from Siouxsie & the Banshees, and Kylie's version unfortunately isn't half as good. The verses were promising.. and then the chorus sucked most of the energy they built up. Or maybe I expected more of it given S&TB's energetic version.

Maybe I'm in the minority, but "One Boy Girl" is one of the worst tracks on Rhythm Of Love, in my opinion.

If we do lose more cuts from Rhythm Of Love before the Top 100, I wouldn't mind losing "One Boy Girl" and "The World Still Turns."

It’s not one of my favorites either. If I had voted Things can only get better and the world still turns would have gotten my highest scores.

he / him
I'd like if Kylie revisited the title "Cosmic." As she sang in "Cosmic," she'd always wanted to write a song called "Cosmic" and a disco-inspired song that incorporates the word "cosmic" more than once could slap. And it wouldn't be the first time that Kylie had a double-up title in her discography.
If I had voted Things can only get better and the world still turns would have gotten my highest scores.
"Things Can Only Get Better" was the lost single from Rhythm Of Love, in my opinion.

I played myself and thought that "This Wheel's On Fire" was an original song, only to find out it's a cover. In fact, I found out about that earlier today. The coincidence!
Anyways, I think it's a great song in any incarnation and gave it an 8. Kylie's version is a bit kitsch, but I like it nonetheless. Since it's a cover, it isn't a loss for me, but there's a lot of songs which could've left before it.

*insert the rant about "The Loco-Motion" still being in here*
