Lady Gaga - 7th Album (Feb 2025)

Fantastic

Born this Way
- her best, absolute best. Shades of pop, glam-rock, some of the best, most infectious song structures of her career (Heavy Metal Lover). Truly the pinnacle of her discography.

Artpop - often gets shunned and is referred to as messy. Which it... is but it's part of its charm. Sure it's not exactly cohesive, but it feels inherently Gaga. Venus, MANiCURE, Swine, Dope, Aura - all so good. Unpopular opinion but I think this album is definitely a worthy follow-up to Born this Way

The Fame/The Fame Monster - due to nostalgia The Fame will always be a classic in my eyes. Money Honey, Boys Boys Boys, Starstruck, Paper Gangsta - all just remind me of summer 2008/2009 so much. Getting ice cream by the beach with friends, tanning, drinking, so good. The Fame Monster was darker and still adore the themes, Bad Romance is one of the best pop songs of all time. I do prefer The Fame though.

Great

Chromatica - I know how much flack this album gets and yes it's definitely not her best, but whenever I do revisit it I enjoy it. Plastic Doll, Free Woman, 911 and Rain on Me are all Gaga classics to me. I do think it's slightly undercooked and they could have done so much more with it though.

Okay

Joanne - Perfect Illusion, John Wayne and Dancin' in Circles were all on heavy rotation for me in 2016, but I just find this album really boring and it wasn't what I wanted from a Gaga album. Most of the girls just weren't delivering for me in 2016, Gaga included. It just fell flat for me compared to her other fun albums.

Ooh ranking time

The Fame - very good
The Fame Monster - great
Born This Way - excellent
ARTPOP - very good
Joanne - good
Chromatica - great (save your whining, it's a great pop dance album)
Harlequin - good

If she's doing another Kimmel performance there is no way the lead is coming out on Friday.
My guess is it's going to be that last week of October to let Harlequin breathe a bit and get the first couple of weeks of the movie out of the way
