It's just amazing to me how this all kinda came out of nowhere? Sure the rumors have been swirling around for YEARS but what caused them to do the doc now? Hasn't the video with the young girl been on the internet for a decade? And then, attention awayes from R Kelly himself to Gaga. And with the Attorney statement it'll only get worse even AFTER she released a statement this morning. ''EXPLOITING." That just brings things to another level in regards to Gaga's connection with him. Sure it's his attorney saying this, but the media WILL have a field day.

I've never been a fan of hers but this is INSANE. Have the committee voted on Oscar nominations yet?

It’s a conversation again because the documentary is the first time the women have actually come forward themselves and told the story in their words. Most were previously confined to an NDA contract that prevented them from speaking about having anything to do with him; they gave their money up in order to speak out. And there are also new allegations in the documentary regarding him more or less making these women his slaves.

Well, everyone knew about the Aaliyah thing or the sex tape, but I don't think many people knew about the current abuse still occurring. Like, he is literally holding girls captive and abusing them. There was a disturbing exposé in Buzzfeed News maybe last year(?), and another one in The Washington Post this year. In the last episode of the docu, a mom is able to rescue her daughter and take her home. Plus, he was acquitted over the sex tape, so he was able to continue his career.

Last time people went “ladies man!!” and moved on. This time media is more powerful and people are listening.

(Some of y'all are serving head in the clouds the way with the sudden astonishment. And I don't mean that harshly. I'm just astonished at y'all astonishment)

A Buzzfeed article in late 2017 or early 2018 came out where one of their reporters broke the news of the several young teenaged women he was courting and turning into groupies, not letting them leave his houses or contact their families. I haven't watched the docuseries, but I believe those new stories of him preying upon these young women and cutting communication with their family takes up some of the documentary?

As the song existed before he jumped on it, I would think there'd be some legal loophole where she could put out her solo version and remove him from the credits with ease since he didn't contribute to it, but I know nothing about how that works legally.

There isn't really a precedent for this sort of thing. There have been several high profile cases of famous people being edited out of movies, written out of TV shows or removed from music projects, but a lot of the time they still receive royalties from such things because of contracts, and the pieces of media remain in circulation. Whilst divisive, this is beneficial to all the innocent people who helped create such media, as they don't deserve to lose revenue because of one monster. It's rare to see something removed entirely so it's no wonder some are expecting the Xtina version to stay around, even though it apparently is not.

I feel like if they were able to prove the solo version, or Christina version, had no contribution from him and the writing credit is purely vanity based on them working together for the album version then they'd be able to defend themselves against any legal retaliation if they did that and it came to that? But it's probably more hassle than it's worth for one song and the easier option is just to delete it.
