Lady Gaga - A Star Is Born

I read it like a douzen times here and elsewhere. There is no need for a new solo edit, new recording, demo, mix or whatever. There is an actual official soloversion of that song out there, no fanmade edit, an official one everyone can do whatever he or she wants to do with it.

Its not like we all didnt spent years hearing leaks and illegal downloaded mp3s for years, I dont think its that big deal to somehow find a way to solute the problem of listening to whatever version of that song is prefered.

I know - I’m saying replace the removed version with this.

Unless it’s some sort of credits issue that can’t be resolved with R Kelly getting coin.

The nerve some people have to nitpick at Gaga's statement just so they can feel their cheap high horse fantasy for a minute or two. Gaga is a survivor of sexual assault too, in case you forgot. She's been so open about the many ways trauma and addiction have shaped her youth, the physical suffering and heavy mental distress they still cause, the PTSD, the depression, the anxiety, the fibromyalgia. How can someone pretend to be compassionate towards the victims of R. Kelly's disgusting crimes by dismantling the honest apology of another rape survivor? Who should be ashamed? Who's the one who should work on their morals, the woman who spent the last few years sharing her trauma and being an activist for the cause or the people who take issues with two half sentences of her heartfelt apology?

If we must talk about the ARTPOP era, let’s talk about what was easily the most surreal, bonkers thing to happen in her entire career: The Muppets Holiday Special.

The skits.

Doing “Venus” with cardboard planets and a backing band made of felt.

That performance of “Applause” with all the dancers running about with Koons gazing balls.

“ARTPOP” with Elton John.

“Baby It’s Cold Outside” with Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

“Fashion!” with RuPaul.

“Gypsy” with Kermit The Fucking Frog.

What happened? What WAS that?

I hope you're not directing this at me? Somebody on the last page said she never mentioned being young, I merely quoted it, what, are we going to rewrite her statement now?
I'm 1000% here for Gaga's statement and applaud her completely, so please don't twist my words if your post was directed at me.
Also, regarding her age, I'm amazed at just how much she's changed in only 5 years, she is so elegant and full of wisdom now, she has a great head on her shoulder, that's all I meant.

It was a very confusing time because she was very busy getting her CNA license so that she could be with Tony.

To come here and state that "you're not convinced by her statement" is basically saying "I don't believe Gaga is able to feel compassion for victims of abuse". I mean, before thinking her response was shallow/unconvincing/insincere, take a moment to evaluate if you really don't believe her, or if you're just taking this chance to pick on her. It makes literally no sense to doubt her at this point. To say she did it all for an Oscar???? There are women who were raped! Gaga was raped (not by him but you get my point)! I mean doubt Chance the Rapper's stance if you really need to be so contrary to what everyone is saying, but choosing Gaga to be the villain of this situation is laughable.

Don't forget about her dressing like a shit stained condom during Fashion

Not at all, it wasn't aimed at anyone in particular! I'm just seeing a lot of people, luckily not so much on this forum, putting on their best, easiest cynical drag so they can gang around the easy target and shoot it while she's down. The stupidity of the "she just wants an Oscar!" argument, I swear...

I think most of us are disappointed in Gaga for the way she handled the "Do What U Want" fiasco, both at the time and in the silent years that followed. What I'm not sure of is what's the purpose of damning her apology now that it finally happened. What is she supposed to do, build a time machine and teleport humankind to an alternate timeline where her judgement is infallible and her timing always right, Born This Way single run included?

Gaga is one of my favourite popstars so no, I'm not picking on her. I only said that she wasn't that young (she was 27 and it was only five years ago) and that naive because other people have said that in the industry people have known about him for decades (if you go on JoJo's twitter she even said that her mama didn't let her work with him back in the day because in the business he was very well known for his behaviour and his stories were very frequent in studio sessions ). She choose to work with him for the sake of "controversy". I applaude her for deleting the song and speaking about the issue but I am not buying the narrative that goes on around the internet that she didn't know who she was working with. That's all.
