Lady Gaga - "Abracadabra" + Mayhem (Mar 7)

"Mustang" there comes from a supposed snippet that leaked a couple of months ago that I really hope is real, because it gives a certain kind of electronic midtempo she hasn't done in a while. The title itself is just what fans use to refer to it because it's the only discernible word you can sort of hear her enunciate (similar to "Notorious Being" and "Abracadabra"), but the Peggy feature is coming out of nowhere as far as I'm aware, beyond her involvement on the album being rumored.

At a friend's Christmas party last week a gaggle of gays got into a gaggers debate about "what they want the album to sound like".

They were all listing other songs of hers they wanted it to be inspired by...etc, I said "I'd rather her be inspired to do something new" but they took it as a cop-out to their game, so I finally caved and said "fine!"... If I had to pick, Government Hooker, Swine and 911.

Only one of these queers could remember how Government Hooker and Swine went! Fake fans! Of course this lead to us listening to both and they were obsessed. Particularly with Swine, which they thought was "So Brat". Ngl seeing them lose their shit over her old shit, definitely helped ease the annoyance of being in said conversation with so many clearly uneducated opinions.

Later I thought about it more and (not for this album) would love it if she worked with Butch Vig, Trent and Atticus..etc, because an electronic dance-rock sound like Garbage-inspired would suit her so well.

I've been begging for a dance-rock and electroclash inspired record for ages, but I fear it'll never come. However, her working with Gesaffelstein and potentially Justice (shhh... I'm manifesting) is already a dream I never thought would materialize, so we'll see how those results turn out.

None of you are ready for the highly congratulatory post I have in mind for "Swine" when the time comes for it to be eliminated in the rate.

Maybe it’s just me but the snippet that played at the end of the Chromatica Ball felt a little like their production work/sound.

I'm excited for the 2nd single, just so we have maybe a better idea of where this is going. I assume it's the song previewed in the music video, and feels very in line with Disease. So again, how is she gonna make Die With A Smile sound right on this? I hope when she releases the 2nd single she does some promo and promotes Disease with it, just so it doesn't feel relegated to buzz single. A hosting/musical guest gig on SNL in January would be great. Promote both at the same time, then find other avenues of promo during album release week. She's a big enough deal if she wanted a primetime concert special she could have it. If Adele and Dua can get one, no way ABC/CBS/NBC wouldn't want Gaga.

We probably won't see her on SNL until the week the album drops (assuming they book her). And at that point it'll probably be "Die With A Smile" and whatever the second single is dd. Kinda feel like she might get two slots at the Grammys too.
