All these signs point to the songs doing very well surely?

Not really. Most people here hate Jessie J, her album had lukewarm reception and, well, look at her success.

ANYWAY, she said something like "I won't pick obvious singles" so maybe those songs will be released.

Oh you.

No I understand what Sarah K is saying, there is sometimes a disconnect between what Popjustice Users want and what the General Public wants... Or say what Gaga's more-dedicated fans want over what the General Public wants.

Scheisse isn't very radio-friendly, but I think it has so much potential that with the right push it could be a smash hit and gain her a lot of positive critical attention for taking a risk.

Hair is probably the safest choice though... *Bleh*

Haha. If he's going to direct anything on the album though, that's the most obvious choice, right? Unless she goes for the whole juxtaposition again. But I am most certainly getting my hopes up.

PS- Did the essay I just wrote in General Lady Gaga discussion get deleted or moved? Because I didn't just spend 10 minutes writing it for nothing. I could have edited it and put it on Tumblr if healthy debate isn't appreciated here.

Of course I would love Scheisse, Heavy Metal Lover or Bloody Mary to be singles, but what I am saying is that just because they are popular with devotees, doesn't mean they are going to smash the charts.

People aren't stupid and they'll know what Scheisse means in English. Judas didn't exactly blow up on American Radio, most likely due to the lyrical content. Sometimes I think people forget just how conservative America can be. I just can't see American radio stations playing a song like scheisse because of the title.

Not that I give that much of a crap about chart positions anymore but they are still important to a certain degree and it generally just leaves a bitter taste in the mouth when a song you love doesn't do well in the charts.

Hopefully I'm wrong though and it would be great if scheisse was the 4th single and the world loved it. In my opinion this whole Born This Way campaign has been lacklustre despite some of the brilliant material on the album. I just wish the world had taken to Judas a bit more!

They can just change the title to "Be Mine" or something, and censor the shits/bullshits.
Just like:

S&M > Come On
Sexy Bitch > Sexy Chick
Tonight (I'm Fucking You) > Tonight (I'm Loving You)

And so on...

I'm a bad kid monster.

I get what you're saying but I feel like it would take away so much from the song. With Sexy Bitch for example, changing the name really didn't affect the song at all. With Scheisse though, the whole song nearly would be censored because she says it so much.

All this Judas praise tonight makes me super happy.

Underrated, underappreciated, undermined by The Edge. Overlooked gem. Tear.

I was initially put off when people on here were commenting on how Steps-like the chorus was, but in the long run it's made me love the song even more.

I totally understand your points Sarah K.

I'd like her to take as much risks as possible. The most boring choices would be Hair, You & I and Americano. I like the songs, but I would hate to see that singles run. let's not even go there with The Queen

Americano would be a boring choice?

What?

I'm more of a Tumblr user, I don't really use last.fm, but like I've said before, I do NOT have a sophisticated ear, so please don't judge me on my music tastes! Haha... You'll see what I mean when you check the page...

No, no, look. I'm talking about censoring the english "shits" not the "Scheißes". Would they be that stuck up? Really?

Americano would be good for the visual, video side, hello Paparazzi, Telephone, Americano Triliogy.
Marry The Night I think wouldn't be very instant for people, same as Government Hooker. Bad Kids would be a good shot, it could have an interesting video. Sheiße could be risky though with the whole will they/won't they censor it.

I find the verses a bit boring and the instrumentation and chord structure too predictable for a Spanish themed song. It might grow on me.

Oh oh ok, I get what you're saying now. The thing is though is that I think they would take offence at a German profanity being said on the radio. I mean people will know what it means. Maybe an American member of this board could give their opinion on the matter but I think it would be an issue. Of course I don't want it to be and would love if it wasn't because it's an amazing song.

Thanks Itty Bitty Piggy, of course I want her to take risks, but I also want them to pay off in the form of good chart positions and sales. The thought of hearing Americano on the radio, oh my ears are bleeding just thinking about it.

Pitbull had a song that was big on radio called "Culo" (vulgar Spanish slang for "ass"), so I don't think the title would be that much of an issue...that is until Fox news gets a hold of what it means. But they'll probably say it means "gay shit".
