I totally understand your points Sarah K.

I'd like her to take as much risks as possible. The most boring choices would be Hair, You & I and Americano. I like the songs, but I would hate to see that singles run. let's not even go there with The Queen

Americano would be a boring choice?

What?

I find the verses a bit boring and the instrumentation and chord structure too predictable for a Spanish themed song. It might grow on me.

I'm more of a Tumblr user, I don't really use last.fm, but like I've said before, I do NOT have a sophisticated ear, so please don't judge me on my music tastes! Haha... You'll see what I mean when you check the page...

PS- FURIOUS that my fucking essay was deleted.

You look cute.

I get what you're saying but I feel like it would take away so much from the song. With Sexy Bitch for example, changing the name really didn't affect the song at all. With Scheisse though, the whole song nearly would be censored because she says it so much.

No, no, look. I'm talking about censoring the english "shits" not the "Scheißes". Would they be that stuck up? Really?

Oh oh ok, I get what you're saying now. The thing is though is that I think they would take offence at a German profanity being said on the radio. I mean people will know what it means. Maybe an American member of this board could give their opinion on the matter but I think it would be an issue. Of course I don't want it to be and would love if it wasn't because it's an amazing song.

Thanks Itty Bitty Piggy, of course I want her to take risks, but I also want them to pay off in the form of good chart positions and sales. The thought of hearing Americano on the radio, oh my ears are bleeding just thinking about it.

Pitbull had a song that was big on radio called "Culo" (vulgar Spanish slang for "ass"), so I don't think the title would be that much of an issue...that is until Fox news gets a hold of what it means. But they'll probably say it means "gay shit".

I agree with whoever said Americano should end the Äkerlund trilogy for the following reasons:

1. It's about a lesbian affair with a latina. Beyoncé -- now that she's in her cocoon phase of becoming a white woman -- could fit the role with a stereotypical accent or Mexican garbs, or Gaga could simply dump and kill her during the first 2 minutes of the video in ironic fashion ("I just killed my girlfriend") after falling in love with a local Mexican girl. It's not hard.
2. The song is sung in half-Spanish and it's about immigration and gays -- Gaga and Honey B were last seen driving to Mexico, on the edge of the law (LAWLAWLAW etc.).
3. The most convincing evidence: "Americano" has 9 letters, just like "Paparazzi" and "Telephone".

If Americano doesn't become a single or worse, it is and the video isn't the finale of the trilogy, we can all pretend it's the 3rd betrayal.

Scheiße, Marry The Night and Bloody Mary are "slaying your faves" in the poll.

I will accept Americano as a single ONLY if it is part III of the Akerlund trilogy (if she hasn't alienated him already).

She should do a B'Day and make a video for every song. It will be entertaining (for obvious reasons) plus, it's the only way for me to see a video for Heavy Metal Lover.

This or at least do something similar to The Fame Part 1

She better not make Americano a single. It's my least favourite on the album and Judas proved the public don't like loud annoying Gaga songs with a "AHHHHHH I'll bring him down! AMERICANOO" chant. Marry The night & Hair / Scheibe first and foremost, then You & I for autumn time and possibly Government Hooker or Bloody Mary after. Thanks!

I think Scheisse will do fine if it is released as a single. I think it's the song that is most likely to be the Bad Romance of this era--a song that will be huge hit with the public. The verses and chorus are infectious, and to me, it's the most club- and radio- ready song on the album. My friends to whom I have shown the album prefer Scheisse to the other songs by a wide margin. They respond by saying something like "THIS is what Gaga should have released instead of Born This Way," and in some ways, I agree with them. It's much more akin to her Fame Monster material (in a good way) than the other songs.

Marry The Night would be a good choice as well, but I don't see it having the immediate appeal of Scheisse. I wasn't blown away by it the first time I heard it, but I do like it a lot now. Scheisse was immediate for me, much like Poker Face was. I could see it being her next huge hit.

Can I ask how its about immigration? Or the gays for that matter? lol I was most intrigued by this song prior to hearing it simply because Gaga's comments about it being about immigration. But honestly...really?

I agree on all accounts. If Americano doesn't end the trilogy, nothing will.

^^Suprisingly, yeah. The "get married, on the West coast, on a Wednesday, en agosto" references the day that Prop 8 was repealed in California and gay marriage became legal. Los chicos (chicas) e los chicos (chicas) are kissing, etc. The song's about how America claims to be the land of the free, but freedom is far for those who "don't belong."

I think it's probably her most clever way of implementing her message in any song on the album, besides maybe Bloody Mary.

Yes, it is very subtle.
Also "We fell in love, but not in court".

From other songs: "She don't care if your papers or your love is the law" (Highway Unicorn) and "So Don't Ask, cause I'll Tell, I'm free while you dwell" (the live-only Bad Kids verse)
