She sounds quite unpleasant on some of these. This is the first album that I've actually disliked her vocals on(not counting the horrific jazz efforts).

Also I think more than anything, the teasers might have been more misleading than any of the art direction. Keep in mind Cheek to Cheek was fronted by those dark and ominous images by Steven Klein.

A companion album full of jazz that only the artist themselves is really passionate about? Checks the box for me! Only difference is that I’m Breathless has “Vogue” and this does not.

Finished listening - I enjoyed it and it’s great to hear her on this kind of big band production (I never really listened to Cheek to Cheek) but I’ll definitely only keep a few songs. I am cancelling my vinyl order though nn
