I think the pre-chorus is my favorite part. She conveys this sort of poignant yearning so well, one of my favorite moments of emotion on the album.
I went through the exact same journey with Vanish Into You. There’s so much going on it sounds a bit overwhelming at first but if you stick with it all the layers and little details reveal themselves and now it sounds so lush and full.
For me it works loads better after Shadow Of A Man. I don’t get the same jump scare I get when it comes after Perfect Celebrity.

Yeah the sequencing of Perfect Celebrity to Vanish Into You is ass. I have to hold on for dear life not to press skip those first few seconds.
I love that “Vanish Into You” starts at 11. Blasts you with brilliance right off the bat.
Alongside that one last "Killah... and boy you're gonna die tonight" (the right balance in this case being 100% Count Gagula)

This is helped tremendously with “Can’t Stop The High”… you can kinda tell they came up with one 16 track sequence and then pulled the two for the bonus editions dd
I don’t get this (and I think this a loud album), it’s not like Perfect Celebrity is some somber little moment?
You’re not wrong, but I think pre-album singles are much easier to push and succeed with than post due to there being no surprise or “newness”. I am honestly down for any song being a single, but there just seems to be too much opportunity to let this song slide.
The BBC show reminding me of this look…

G.U.Y always made me feel she loved the Bravoverse

This is really cute.
Something I’ve noticed is that she’s finally found the right way to use her chest voice and belts without sounding… like Longlegs. She used to exaggerate her vocals to make them sound fuller, which put me off a bit—especially in your Dopes and your Till It Happens to You. But now, with the way her voice has matured and a refined vocal technique, she truly sounds her best. Her singing has gained a meatier, more resonant quality—still massive, but now much more pleasant and controlled.
