Her vocal performance elevates the hell out of it. I said the other day that she's often at her best when she's able to marry accessible, catchy pop with weird (gay people love weird!), and - video pending - I would say this accomplishes that spectacularly.

And I get the Turn Off The Light comparison on a surface level but that beat is harder than anything Kimmy could serve on her best day. The NIN parallel is more accurate (and again, the vocal helps with that)

Her nose has always been a beautiful feature of her face and all of the posts that reference it in a mocking tone have always been disgusting.

Thank God she's doing something fresh and fulfilling versus chasing radio. Aren't we so past worrying about that?

Sonically it's pretty interesting, conceptually I find it a little... corny. But that's just how things normally are with her

This is perfect and god, so much fucking fun. She is locked in, the production is layered and playful, and her vocal performance is like Bloody Mary/Applause with the grit she channels live committed with such precision to record. I can’t wait to live with this fucking bonkers song.

On first impression, it feels like more of an intentional callback to her 2010-2011 sound than anything new of forward looking for her, with literally every hallmark of that time thrown in so nothing’s left to chance.

That said, there’s a lot of melodic turns and vocal flourishes to love here already so it gives me hope for the rest of the material if she can approach it feeling this clocked in but bring more to the table in terms of the direction.

Excited for the video.

Verses remind me of The Knife in some places, chorus is straight Nine Inch Nails. This lands in her comfort zone while still sounding like new territory sonically. It’s a hit for me girls!
