It's a pale yellow, but still yellow (as the listings all say dd)
I just don't understand how they went with that main cover when there are better alternatives. Like I get the idea that the main one is more palatable to the GP because it's... boring... but I don't think the amazon/white/my avatar one is any less palatable? And it's a way better image. And the fractal one with her eyes pointing in opposite directions that looks like a Duhrivetive piece also works a lot better and would make sense for a more unsettling deluxe edition.
I also think that despite the soccer mom demographic, a lot of the general public still looks to her for kooky kooky ooky spooky. Even the soccer mom demographic. They like a little weird. They want to buy the bizarre album cover to feel like they aren't like the other parent council moms. They see a bleached brow and a strange angle and think 'Yeah, I'd still like to peg my husband.'
I feel she doesn't really reach out to anyone outside of her immediate bubble for like, what the average person would want. And that bubble are queer people who undermine what straight people are open to.
At the end of the day, when she was at her most popular, it was because she had the support of a lot of straight people. And she was still weird, especially for that point in time.

I honestly think they did it on purpose so people will buy more variants fff, the Little Monsters/cigs who like a bit of quirk/stanned the Born this Way horns etc etc will probably end up buying all the weirder covers and the basic standard one, whilst Kelly, a new mum who adores Die With A Smile and played Just Dance to death on her iPod Touch in 2008 won't be scared off by the standard cover art so it's a win win, and her team knows this.

An alternate artwork CD with a poster?! This edition was made for my zero vinyl owning but J-Pop CD collecting ass. I curse this being UK exclusive but might get my friend in London to buy it for me and just hoard it for whenever we see each other sometime in the coming year dd
