Lady Gaga - Mayhem

No but this is a complete home run for me! This song and Disease both, I’m obsessed!

The video is sooo good. I love the setup, the looks, the choreography. She looks stunning. I feel like I see her passion and fire in a way that’s been a bit distant. It looks like she is having fun! And that’s one thing I feel stands out with this whole package. It all looks and sounds like she’s having fun and enjoying herself, she doesn’t seem to take herself too seriously. The song is also catchy as fuck, it’s stuck in my head on a loop already. Put a spell on me Gargoyle!!

The moment in the video where she is surrounded by all the dancers and they chanted the song title and chorus hook, I got chills!! And the lyrics are goofy, they make sense in a song where she sings about casting a spell. I just love her and the speech she made on the Grammys? That’s important. It feels right for her to celebrate her roots and bring forth queer ass music in times like this.

Literally had this in repeat all day. It's honestly been so long since something has hit me this hard. Someone said nobody is releasing pop music like this anymore a few pages back and it's  true. This is just pure fun, and I already know it's going to be one of my most played songs of the year.

I remember feeling the same way when I heard Bad Romance and then we got The Fame Monster which housed some absolute triumphs such as Monster, so who knows what the FUCK she has for us on Mayhem. My god, I'm so excited. She really is back.

She's back!

Disease was great but this is what I've been waiting for. It's like a perfect mix of the more industrial/dance sounding tracks from The Fame Monster and in particular Born This Way. There's so many hooks and ear worms baked into the track.

In some ways it actually sounds a lot like a sequel to Scheiße from Born This Way, which famously never got a single release, so really glad to see her put this out with a video.

The Guadagnino Suspiria influences for the video are a great touch as she seems to be really leaning into the witch/cult aesthetic for this album. Great choreography too.

Just skimmed through this and....her magnum opus is really coming

I’m trying to sleep but I can only think about this! This piece on the interview

And explore the metaphor of perseverance on the dance floor, because the dance floor is - for me, anyway - it has always been the place where I try to improve myself as a human being. How do I work harder? Have more passion? How do I give more of my authentic self? How do I earn my spot as a performer?

Everything about this seems such a more effective way to represent most of the Chromatica concepts on a first look? “battling for your life” “can dance music heal?” etc. Like yes this is the dance floor you fought for mama!!

The scream scene on the video got me good, she’s really fighting to stay alive on this dance battle this time. Ugh so so good.
