Lady Gaga - Mayhem

This is brilliant. And the video housing her best choreo since Born This Way and Judas?

Wow. WOW. Just an amazing song and an amazing video. I gasped and squealed multiple times watching and listening to it the first time and have since listened I don't know how many more. I'm obsessed. And her Grammys speech...it made me emotional. I was talking with my best friend earlier about how Born This Way was really the only empowerment song of its time - that I know/could think of - to specifically mention and lift up queer identities, so to hear her doing it again...I teared up. She really helped me feel seen and loved before I was ever even ready to acknowledge my own queerness at the time. This all continues the idea I got from Disease of it truly feeling like LADY GAGA - the Mother Monster - is back.
With all her talk about the new music being “dark” and “dance”, I feared she was going to lean too heavily into attempting to relive past successes by giving the fans what they’ve been begging for, but I think both disease and abracadabra add a little extra bump that elevate what the fans wanted into an arena that feels more current and appropriate for 2025. This feels more celebratory than it does rehashing. It feels like she has put some actual thought into it, which is obvious because how the hell do you convince Lady Gaga in 2025 to do a full on choreo routine like that? I genuinely thought we were going to get content akin to that Tudor watch commercial she did where it felt very color-by-numbers gaga, but this just feels right.

I have a lot of feelings and they’re all good. Can’t wait for what’s left.
Completely agree with this. There's an element to both songs, and I haven't entirely put my finger on what, that helps them feel fresh and exciting and make sense in 2025. It could honestly just be because it's been so long since her music has felt and sounded like this but I think there's more to it. Which makes everything even more exciting cause we still have over 11 songs left to hear. Honestly prepared for this to be my favorite album released in 2025 at this point.

Now it's after 3 AM and I should go to bed ddd.

The video is stunning and there are really no notes to be given about it. The song is amazing as well (I’m letting the Gaga-nonsense in the chorus slip under the radar). The operatic part is just divine.

This video made the Disease video click for me. I see the vision, I see the visual connections. It’s a great one, two punch!

What I love so much about Gags is that she manages to make dance pop that’s so euphoric. So uniquely hers. This feels celebratory. Her vocal tics and inflections throughout are delicious. This is really shaping up to be a fun album. I’m listening to Abacadabra and Disease on repeat back to back, and what stands out is her vocals on both songs. She’s hungry and we’re all about to eat!

If there were actual lyrics in the chorus this would end me. Killer package. This isn't what I was expecting at all, but I live.
