Also I’ve been waiting for her to do that darker shade of blonde since this V cover and it was worth the wait mama! More please, GÁR.

It's just perfect. This album is shaping up to be what it must be, which is what we've already discussed and what Chromatica should have been but her mental state didn't allow her to achieve: her relationship with herself, a self that includes Lady Gaga, which has come with a toll. And she's engaging with this theme in a way that's not what Chromatica was, largely a game of dress-up and will-this-do and remember-me when not even she believed in it. She's crafting something good and new, and inviting us to witness it. The lady in red is Chromatica lowkey.

The song is fantastic, and by the time she breaks into operatic vocals it's a done deal. Echoing what some of you have already said, the video seems to contain several nuggets of her previous visual work in a celebratory way: the lady in red/Mayhem monitoring the dance happening below reminds me of "Alejandro" and the hat she's wearing reminds me of "Marry The Night;" the dancer formation and wardrobe is giving "Born This Way;" the screaming intermission calls back to "911." Her acting right at the end when the demon lowers its eyes while she looks up at it is great in a subdued way and says so much.

This piece from the Elle interview out today is very revealing and kind of finds her in conversation with what she's coming off of:

The lady in red is all of you that puts you to the test. Your internal monologue. 'Can you do it? Can you do it? Will you do it? Are you good enough? Can you handle it?' In a lot of ways, the song is about dealing with that challenge to yourself and very often the world around us can reflect it back to us as well. I wanted to explore the question, 'What does it feel like to thrive and not just be surviving all the time?'

I still like "Disease," but this shit is in different levels. I'm so happy.

More thoughts incoming:

The production feels ALIVE. Daring, pulsating, throbbing. That disco piano underneath being so delicious while casting a shadow on why Chromatica's production felt so stale.
"Feel the beat under your feet, the floor's on fire".
"Don't waste time on a feeling, use your passion, NO RETURN".
She sounds HUNGRY. Inspired and violently reclaiming the chair she had left empty for a while.

Echoing what you've already mentioned about the choreography - it feels exciting, manic while playing to Guggen's strengths without resorting to having her look like a Sim with a full bladder. And something Paris excels at is at directing full dance troupes to create masses of rhythm and movement, stunning to look at.

Just- way to go, everyone.

Not since J.Lo's Get Right was such cunt served with a cane!

It's interesting that the biggest retread I see here is actually a lot of the Chromatica era platitudes but actually executed properly. In a way, this would be a bigger serve if her previous attempt at reclaiming Lady Gaga or whatever hadn't happened, but it's a serve nonetheless.

Can't find a real source for that screenshot, but streets are saying it was from Ticketek and got swiftly removed. Apparently they are announcing at the SuperBowl? Taking all of this with a grain of salt of course.
