Lady Gaga - Mayhem

I don’t care how much she or her team try to retcon DWAS to manipulate figures. The Fame Monster is her second album and Abracadabra is Mayhem’s second single.

My ranking:

Abracadabra
The Edge of Glory
Eh Eh (Nothing Else I Can Say)
911
Alejandro
G.U.Y.
Joanne
I'll Never Love Again (I can't rank this on account of never listening to it)

I also think Eh Eh is hugely underrated, one of her best
Not this being so similar to my ranking:

Abracadabra
Eh Eh (Nothing Else I Can Say)
911
G.U.Y.*
Alejandro*
The Edge of Glory
Joanne
I'll Never Love Again**

*these two flip very often.
**one of the better songs from ASIB18 but still, nah.

One thing I've noticed about Abracadabra and why it's such a welcomed homecoming: that Gaga sound cadence and melody flow. The way it slides easily to or from Donatella, the way it dubs perfectly over the music video of Alejandro. It really feels as if there had not been 12 years passed by.

The fact that these were third singles but the respective campaigns felt a million years old

he/him
Yeah, she hasn’t had a single run that’s gone smoothly… ever. Throwback to when “Beautiful Dirty Rich” was the original second single from The Fame before being switched for “Poker Face” at the literal last second. Plus them throwing “Vanity” out as a promo single at the same time? The Fame probably got it the worst when it came to mess and confusion surrounding singles because it was still the era of regional releases, but every album has had at least one last minute switch up.

And Beautiful Dirty Rich I believe was the track that got her signed? It's a great song for sure, but it's so interesting despite so much material being recorded after (with RedOne) a lot of bets remained on that one.
