Lady Gaga - Mayhem

Wait did Chromatica have a last min switch?

Not a last minute switch, but things shuffled around and/or were outright cancelled: “Hold My Hand” was going to be released as a single around Coachella that year, and “Sour Candy” was meant to be a single as well. There was also a very brief moment where “Stupid Love” nearly never became a single due to the song leaking, but Gaga decided against it

I'm not sure of how much of it was real, but I remember some mentions that before Lockdown hit hard in LA, they were halfway between video shoots and then it got scrapped all together. Not long after, we got the Album followed by the Free Woman (random) Honey Dijon remixes, so I always imagined that was going to be the official third single they couldn't complete? There was also the random "Chromatica Forecast" with song lengths that were theorized to be the upcoming singles (including Fun Tonight? ddddd)

Yeah, Nicola mentioned they were on set getting ready for a shoot when they were told to shut everything down. And there were plans for additional videos (one of the makeup artists from "Stupid Love" said he was hired for 6 total), but I don't think they were meant to be full fledged singles. They were just part of the whole Chromatica TV thing, which was also scrapped.

Speaking of Choices™️, Vanity's trajectory always sends me. First released as a Rhapsody exclusive The Fame bonus track in 2008, then given away for free with Monster Ball tickets two years later, then included on the soundtrack to iconic cinematic flop Beastly in 2011...and the single cover using a still from the Poker Face video and the Evanescence font???

Deserved to be on the album (which is where its first appearance was, via a sampler), to be honest.

It's not my favorite of the regional/exclusive tracks if I'm being real (Again Again deserved (and also, Fooled Me Again being in The Fame Part One but not making the final cut over Brown Eyes...girl!)) but the way it Would Not Die for three years is truly something. Candy Shop teas.

Some interesting rumors about Mayhem Ball dates from Atrl. Going to compile it below in a Spoiler. It seems to be information from ~3 months ago.

*Start in Europe around June/July, with North America following in September
*Ireland, Great Britain, France, Netherlands, Sweden, Poland, Austria, Germany, Italy, Spain, Belgium and Portugal to be part of the European leg
*"The Asia cities considered were Singapore, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Kaohsiung, Goyang, Tokyo & Osaka. Don't know which ones are booked after all. Europe & North America will most probably revealed first."

As for the venues/direct quotes:

* London Olympic Stadium considered as well.

* Liverpool is most likely to have a show and not Manchester. Etihad Stadium is unavailable for 2 years because of renovations. There's a second venue considered but as a last option.

* Edinburgh is most likely than Glasgow. It's less saturated market this summer. 50-50 tho.

* Paris might be at the La Defence Arena after all. Still not clear.

* South France I heard about Lyon & Nice. I don't know about Marseille. We'll have to see what got through.

* Hamburg is more on lock than Cologne.

* Madrid if booked is Metropolitano Stadium. Only this one was considered.

* Lisbon if booked as well the stadium that was considered is Estadio do Restelo with 35.000-40.000 concert capacity. Don't know sure, there were multiple options to choose from in Portugal, 2 in Lisbon, 1 in Porto and 1 somewhere I don't remember.

Announcement should happen before the album drop.

Oh so it's significantly more extensive than the Chromatica Ball. It seems the success of the latter gave them some confidence and hopefully Gaga felt more comfortable and pain-free touring.

Torn between finding the little lyrical snippets used as "read more" text on her website cute ("Is there somethin' else you're searchin' for?" / "But I won't stop until that boy is mine") and a bit Strugglina ("Rah rah, ah ah ah"...Michael, beloved...)

Reward my return to the fold by picking Glasgow over Edinburgh please, Queen.

Not after “Die With A Smile” got the upgrade from non-album single to first single after being added to the tracklist dd

Via Universal:
I’ll still take that as a promo song rather than a “single”. It was never part of the plans, as Disease was the first official LG7 single so no backsies sorry hun xoxo

That’s so funny to me. I remember distinctly giving up my email for a “free bonus track” probably for their email list and it was Vanity.
