I don't love that so many Hot Ones interviews are 50% the celebrity remarking on how weird the format is / finding it curious. (And the "wow, you did your research" moment in every episode is cloying, especially when the questions are just "I know this tidbit, what about that tidbit?" and nothing deeper.) She seems to be in a good headspace, though!
I need them to invite her on one of those in-depth singer/songwriter interviews Mariah was on.

I mean, not for nothing, a lot of mainstream press junkets for any project involve artists being asked the same often basic questions over and over and over...I can't say I blame them for reacting this way to ones that go outside of that.

I just can't get enough of how she sounds so much healthier and happier in all the recent interviews with this being no exception. It's just so lovely to see/hear.

Same. The Mariah one was for Genius, and you could tell the interviewer was a stan. It makes a difference!

I'd even take a Genius lyric breakdown video for one of the MAYHEM singles at this point. I'm honestly surprised she's never done one, but her recent emphasis on being a Songwriter™️ and this Hot Ones appearance suggests to me that there's some branching out happening, so maybe we'll finally get that.

This was a great interview
My favorite pieces of ~content is when they do the timeline of your career and show clips of movies actors have done in the past while they talk about it. She already did My Life in Looks and I don't know how the format can be adapted for a singer vs. an actor but I would love to see her talk about past songs and performances, especially since Mayhem seems to be her re-embracing her past as opposed to running away from it.
The Mariah interview for Genius had snippets from her catalog playing whenever they would bring up certain songs. Rolling out a couple of screens onstage for video and performance snippets to comment on would be doable too, I'm assuming. It would be a very nice thing to have around the release of the album so that the new music from Mayhem was discussed too. I hope she does it someday.

Hmm I wish she had been more specific with her answers, like when she brought up the Nick Knight statue. It's funny because she ended the interview saying the hot wings had made her more honest but I didn't really hear it, everything was answered pretty generally. But overall it was nice to have a music-focused interview, and specifically a pop music-focused interview at that (no jazz mentions!). And Sean seemed so smitten with her which was cute to see!
