She's talked about all of them (or most of them, I'm not sure about 'Dance in the Dark'):

Bad Romance, Fear of Love Monster
Alejandro, Fear of Sex Monster
Monster, Fear of Attachment Monster
Speechless, Fear of Death Monster
Dance in the Dark, Fear of Judgement Monster
Telephone, Fear of Suffocation Monster
So Happy I Could Die, Fear of Alcohol Monster
Teeth, Fear of Truth Monster

Hardly any of those make sense in the context of the songs, no?

The only obvious ones to me are 'Dance in the Dark', 'Telephone' and 'Bad Romance' at a push.

I guess it's another attempt by her to give her songs more meaning than they actually have.

Could be, especially 'Telephone', which is more or less 'just a Britney reject' (even when it's amazing), but they do make sense! You can see her explaining some of them here:

I'd suggest not taking her seriously. Certainly not in the way you'd read a Kimba or an Alesha interview, it's Gaga she is supposed to talk shit.

She looks so skinny in the Jingle Bell Ball photos... sort of like Madonna, in a sinewy way.

Apparently in some interview she said she was "chronically sad"... Oh dear, she needs to take a chill for even a week!

She also gets sentimental very often.

Cancelling a live show because of Michael Jackson's death, going on stage too late because she was getting emotional about the Grammy nominations...

I heard someone on the radio doing a quiz and one of the questions was "Who sings Russian Roulette?" they said "Lady GaGA". This either signals that A) that woman was a ritard, B) that Lady GaGa is currently #1 in terms of exposure and is at the top of everyone's mind or C) that Bad Romance needs more airplay.

Anyway, Lady GaGa is unique yes but I can see the following influences/similarities:

1) Christina Aguilera - the two have powerful voices but GaGa wasn't marketed originally as having "the voice". Both have artistic shifts album to album.

2) David Bowie - she obviously aspires to be the next David Bowie as in iconic alter ego singer songwriter rather than iconic pop star. Also the cover of the Fame Monster is similar to that avant garde artist guy who used to sing backing vocals for Bowie, what was his name again?!

3) Madonna - Dance in the Dark bridge = Vogue bridge.

4) Marylin Manson - obvious. Here's hoping she has more MM like videos and more MM collobarations.

and one:

5) TORI FRICKIN AMOS. I am a Tori fan but find her odd (especially album concepts WTF), uncomfortable in interviews but a genius in terms of creating massive songs out of thin air (Amos has been around longer but both have a high churn rate of creating song after song). They both play the piano, but GaGa is more literal in her lyrics. The funyn thing is Amos said that GaGa is not the next David Bowie (she has a song called Not David Bowie).

I think GaGa is a mixture of all these + Britney/MJ (for the dancing).

P.S So Happy I Could Die = love.

Bad Romance set to climb again this week... #1 next week and hopefully #2 for Christmas? I'll win about £400 if she does! I got her at 16/1 on William Hill but she's at 10/1. Should crash after X Factor tonight.

Oooh, I know it's all to be taken with a pinch of salt but I found those pretty satisfying explanations for the admittedly slightly flimsy Monster motif. Her explanation of Monster is pretty hilarious, didn't Vas interpret it in exactly the same way very early on?

Am I really dumb for not getting that Teeth was about oral sex? I thought of it more as rough sex, S&M and the like.

Klaus Nomi.

she really is full of shit sometimes......i think she jsut does whatever and then makes up from explanation for it..rather than setting out to do something the first place.

Controversial:

I haven't given Teeth a proper listen. I just skip it or don't pay attention.

fear of being seen as she is monster ...another popstar but with exciting visuals and a bit of edge to her

The backing track reminds me a bit of "No Diggity", but that's it.

And "So Happy I Could Die" reminds me a bit of "Pocketful of Sunshine".

I go back and forth on this all the time. Is she not just a Akon-signed, Colby-O'Donis-featuring, RedOne-loving Kat DeLuna #2? I feel like she's shaking in her boots 90% of the time hoping we don't notice.

Or maybe she's some visionary icon...She definitely wears crazy clothes, that's for sure..
