Lady Gaga & Tony Bennett - Cheek to Cheek / Love for Sale

Re: Lady Gaga & Tony Bennett - Cheek To Cheek

Love Jazz and it's perfect for Gaga. The idea of it potentially receiving more care and a better treatment than her main albums, it being a covers album (even if that's the norm with the genre, it's not something I care about), being released at a time we were expecting more ARTPOP music and it being all Tony duets, are all off-putting details about it. But it's coming anyway, so she'd better sound great on it.

I hate jazz but I love Gaga so I will perform my stan duties and purchase Cheek To Cheek.

My stan duties won't go that far, I loathe jazz with a passion so I will be pretending this album doesn't exist.

Re: Lady Gaga & Tony Bennett - Cheek To Cheek

Any possibility of current Gaga songs being revisited as jazz numbers for this project?
Think Applause at SNL as a blueprint/reference.

I love jazz but I imagine that if this is an album full of upbeat Lady is a Tramp-style songs, it's gonna come across as quite gimmicky.

But if she released a (solo) jazz album full of sorrowful and mournful songs, that would be great.

Not very likely. The album will be a mix of solo Tony, solo Gaga, and duets, but no current songs.

Re: Lady Gaga & Tony Bennett - Cheek To Cheek

I am here for trap-jazz Ga actually. Some sax pussypoppin' anthems to give us all life, no doubt.

Re: Lady Gaga & Tony Bennett - Cheek To Cheek

Any guesses on what will Gaga be covering? Theme from New York, New York is a given.

Re: Lady Gaga & Tony Bennett - Cheek To Cheek

To be fair, Amy Winehouse's most universally loved track aren't jazz.

Neither are Tony's, but you've all decided that this will be a "JAZZ jazz" album is a foregone conclusion.

Once again, their duet of "Tramp" wasn't jazz.

Cheek to Cheek is a favorite of mine from that era, so as long as they don't fuck that up I'll be quite forgiving of the rest of the album, whatever it may entail.

This will be the first GaGa album I won't buy, then.

Re: Lady Gaga & Tony Bennett - Cheek To Cheek

Applause at SNL was one of the many era highlights though, so why not?

Re: Lady Gaga & Tony Bennett - Cheek To Cheek

This album will do more good for her career than ARTPOP Part II ever would.
