I don't even deal with "her" anymore. I just listen to the music. She's a buffoon.

Re: Lady Gaga - ARTPOP (Album, 2013)

Gaga needs to sit down, stare at her sea of ideas, fish out the good ones, develop them properly to make a cohesive sound and image and compress it all into a record. She has issues with execution and, so far, that seems the case for Artpop.

I don't think she's really let us into the ARTPOP aesthetic yet - she actually said in late 2010 that Born This Way would be all over the place, that she wanted to throw as much at the wall as possible, and basically be over-the-top, constant, in-your-face, etc. And that's exactly what we got - a clusterfuck of 80s stadium pop, with a complete multitude of random imagery ranging from mermaids to pregnancy and birth to aliens to pretending-she-is-a-Bible-character to her transgender alter-ego.

Re: Lady Gaga - ARTPOP (Album, 2013)

Gaga has already given us so much and yeah... to each their own. "Born This Way" (the music) was perfect for me, and it's the best record I've heard in five years or so. Listened again today... it's amazing, full on.

The Gaga argument comes down to the fact that those that are pretty enamoured with her, myself included, find her to be the first popstar since Madonna that is on that level. And I include Britney, Christina, everyone that's come forth since in there. And those that don't like Gaga find that statement ridiculous. What can you do.

I'm even of the mind to say that she's actually more talented than Madonna when it comes down to it. She certainly hasn't had the career OR moments yet. But she's just getting started.

Gaga inspires a passion in people that I don't think another popstar has done since the days of MJ and Madonna. Laugh at LIttle Monsters, or the website all you want... but is there another current popstar with that? I'm not saying that makes her better than any of your favs, but it means something.

So you come into a Gaga thread and say "eh, she's alright but not great" and this is what happens... the passion bites back.

And 'Stache' isn't terrible. It's not great. It's not changing the world or even this weekends dancefloor per-say. But it's not terrible.

It would be amazing if ArtPop was full of her old leaked demo's like Out of Control, Nothing On (But The Radio), No Way... I would almost like her again.

She's said she doesn't fuck with her old demos while writing new albums (this was obviously before Fashion Of His Love was spawned up from the pits of hell but we'll pretend that abomination doesn't exist), so I don't see why she would do that now. It's such a bitch move to throw on some lame demo that we've already heard a thousand times, so I'd rather she ignore any and all unreleased material and let it stay that way. Katy Perry needs to take a seat.

What on earth does any of that have to do with Katy Perry? You bring her up an awful lot... pressed a bit, I'd say.

Because she's a repeat offender. E.T. and then Part Of Me.

But she is rather shit, I'd say.

Those weren't recorded for One Of The Boys and then put on her next album. They were recorded for Teenage Dream and went on TD. If Judas leaked in January '11 would you have been angry if she put it on BTW?

Re: Lady Gaga - ARTPOP (Album, 2013)

I wouldn't mind to hear revamped demos, but I definitely wouldn't want more than a couple.
I hope she does the two disc business (in a non-messy way). She said she wrote about 50 songs for ARTPOP, and I want to hear at least 20 in one way or another! B-sides, bonus tracks, whatever. Just give them to me!

But we practically know nothing about ARTPOP?

Regardless of what they were recorded for, they were old and stale by the time they were released. She even tried to pass one off as a reason to buy her Complete Candyland verison of her album! No fucking shame. Gaga would never. She'd wave bye bye and move on with her writing.
