The Lucky Ones has always been my favourite from Born To Die.

Shame we don’t have the Lucky Ones demo in some form on streaming. The album version feels so vacuous in comparison.

I love both precisely because they’re so different. The demo sounds so warm, summery and inviting, while the album version gives me end credits scene. It still fascinates me how they have such entirely different tones using the exact same vocal take.

That man shouting 'shaaa' on the Blue Jeans intro was it always repeated throughout the song?

If you listen closely, the same sample also plays almost non-stop in the background of Without You

I never understood the dislike/indifference towards 'Lucky Ones'. Yeah it's cheesy but the strings are beautiful and she sounds good, she's gotten tears out of me with it and I won't be shamed!
