Lana Del Rey - Did you know that there's a tunnel under Ocean Blvd

High By the Beach was eight years ago, if we're talking metrics of success she's proven to be the type to chase acclaim over chart performance.

High by the Beach was also the lead single of her new project at the time though, she obviously wanted to put that out, so even if she might not chase or particularly care about commercial success (probably even less so nowadays) it's natural she'd feel excited if it resonated like that. For all we know the label has pushed for this release since it went viral, right? so I wouldn't be surprised if her reaction is a bit more like when the Summertime Sadness remix became a hit (even if I'm aware that is not the best comparison either).. but I guess we won't know for sure until she's asked/acknowledges it. She deserves it so hopefully she is happy.

I have to say I wonder how they look at it since… it was an unreleased song that got cut last minute from Ultraviolence it seems. And that was the time she was still fighting with the label. Since it’s been hinted she tried to rework the song for God Knows How Long… I hope she’s actually having the last laugh and people on label are low key annoyed.

Or maybe it really is the other way and she’s pissed ddd. Less than one week until she hits the stage (as her own headline show ddd) for the first time in 3 years! So we might find out.

I'm sure the release of Yes to Heaven is something she wanted to do since it's been reworked so many times and she's floated the idea in the past of releasing unreleased songs. At this point she doesn't do anything she doesn't want to.
