Last.fm Accounts

I love browsing other people's library (probably too much) but the scream I just let out seeing someone's Scrobbler picking up their porn watching. They must have some scrobbler that picks up video plays as well. No shame in it whatsoever, but quite risky considering what some videos get labeled on these adult video sites these days!

I really want Apple Music to work with Last.fm a lot easier so I can finally switch to AM instead of Spotify. Been scrobbling since 2014, there's no way I can just stop doing that??

I'm an Apple Music girlie and scrobbling devout, the app's scan feature is pretty full proof if you listen from your library (rather than streaming from the Apple Music platform). You just have to keep an eye out for duplicate scrobbles if you also scrobble from a desktop app separate from your phone plays. The app thinks those desktop plays are "new" so will try to log them again. I do most of my scrobbling from my Macbook, but listen to my phone at work all day. Usually before bed I just run the scan feature on the app and it picks up everything I listened to that day.

Oh nice, thank you! I scrobble a lot of songs outside of my library aswell as playing it on my TV quite often so I think I would miss out on a lot of scrobbles right?

Depends on what app you are using to play on your TV, there may be plug-ins/a way? I only scrobble from my Macbook and iPhone though, so can't be sure.

Hm, I can do a free trial on my new iPhone so I think I will just use Spotify and AM side to side for the next month or so and see how it goes, thanks! Do you have a good recommendation for a iPhone app?

I use the actual Last.fm app. It doesn't scrobble in real time, but you can use the scan feature and it will capture library plays.

Just started using the edit function to fix things like Pink/P!nk being 2 different artists, include scrobbles for pre-album singles to their parent album (if it's very much pre album campaign I'm a bit torn.. as well as with ones where I can't quite track if it was actually the album version at the time??) and (whole lot of work) group compilations so they actually show up in most-played lists instead of being divided over all the seperate artists.
Oh and fixing things like Spotify scrobbles adding things like 'expanded edition' when I don't want it there.

LOT OF WORK. Especially having to click through multiple pages before getting to the actual editable part
Still torn whether to merge albums with multiple editions?

This is the biggest thing for me as well. There are some third party apps that basically do what the official last fm app does but they are all behind a paywall.

I hate to having to add everything to my library in order for them to scrobble.

There’s a script that allows you to edit in bulk! Makes organizing a breeze.

Also the Lab seems lame. Bring back Playground and the undelete function, cowards!

I got a bulk editor installed which does work for some things (like at least changing all songs from one album/by one artist) but what I can't seem to pull off is the tons of compilation tracks that don't have 'various artists' as the album act. I have to go through those one by one unless I'm missing something?
(Oh and I don't mean going through it one compilation at a time. That would be fair. I genuinely have to edit 40 seperate entries to fix one Now album right now?)

Oh yeah the few times I had to edit soundtracks or something I had to do it one song at a time for each unique artist. Sorry I don’t have any good suggestions!

Thanks anyway!
I guess from now on with things like soundtracks (where I actually care about them being grouped) I'll just try to keep up from the start. (I guess in theory I could also change all compilations to 'various artists' on my iTunes, but... no)
