I blame this dynamic entirely on music gatekeepers. Just imagine, for a second, if all of us on this forum were the ones being tastemakers for the broader musical mainstream? Imagine how much more diverse the mainstream would be. I play her stuff on a radio station that I run and listeners that had NEVER heard of her are now nuts about her - and in terms of appeal, she crosses generations. She really is the type of artist that a label or any music entity with an interest in long-term revenue should be investing in.

I can’t get tickets for London, but have signed up for alerts on Twickets. Every time I ask on IG I get messages from very dodgy ‘profiles’ which don’t seem legit to me.

Very curious as to the audience demographic of the concerts for her concert tour. I am slated to watch her in concert for the first time next week in Brooklyn. For concerts that I typically attend, I am usually the one dragging the average age down but I have a feeling I might be doing the opposite here. The only fan I know in my city is this girl that I briefly dated 4 years ago.

I don’t know why I expected a slightly older crowd but in LA, I’d say 90% of the people who were in the VIP pit with me were under 30. A lot of high school and college aged kids, too.

oh wow..Now I am really going to feel like a fossil at this concert - which will be a new feeling for sure. What is encouraging is that younger folks have good taste.

Watched Leon for the first time in concert at Brooklyn Steel last night and OMG - I had no idea she would be THIS AMAZING! As a geriatric millennial, I was definitely the oldest one in the predominantly female crowd. Leon is not just a singer - she is a consummate performer and she had the audience eating out of the palm of her hand. Here are some clips from last night's gig:
