Leona Lewis

She has no songs in the top 1500 at the moment. The album pre-order is 242.

Judging by the proper clips, if they don't release I Got You, with good promo, they're fucking insane.
You mean US? Because in the UK she has 8 songs in the top 1500, three are not from I Am (Run, Footprints and Love Song To The Earth)

I Am is #235 now

US:
I Am (Deluxe) #1300

Love Song To The Earth #342

This album needed more label intervention, about 5 of the songs she made herself are half baked but decent enough, the rest should have been scrapped. Her projects always lack that killer lead single, they just needed Ryan Tedder to come up with that one song plus two more and it probably would've been fine.

I wouldn't be surprised if she does a little better than Heartbreak on Hold numbers.

No I meant UK but clearly made a mistake on the search. I did think it was rather odd.

What is your definition of successful? I'm genuinely not being facetious. Because, to me, right now she isn't particularly successful. She's just coasting along and I'll be happily surprised if there's any change.

I think the album going gold would be a success - which I think is possible if they have good promotion lined up throughout Q4 and continue releasing singles into next year.

I've said before, I think it will do a Kylie/Madonna/Will Young. Debut high, plummet down the charts, maybe stabilise for a few weeks from some additional promo and then disappear for good. 80k max.

Radio 2 played 'I Got You' whilst I was driving back from the gym today and it sounded amazing. Literally been saying it since we first heard it but I reckon (and I hope) for a performance of it on X Factor to really kick it into the top layers of the charts and give Radio 1 and Capital an incentive to play it.

It won't even sell 80k, be lucky to make silver. It will enter in top10 because it won't need to sell much and hardcore fans will buy it but then drop like a stone. Probably only 2 or 3 weeks maximum in the charts.

So Leona will also be on Lorraine next Thursday, so hopefully more promo spots will come this week and next.

Also the reason we haven't had the I Am video yet is because they reshot it. I don't know if you remember but I posted about how Leona wasn't happy about the Thunder or I Am videos, but obviously now it transpires she was very unhappy with I Am. I am surprised they were willing to invest in a new video for a song that isn't likely going to do anything.

Leona talking about Power.

Kylie's Kiss Me Once sold more or less 80k and that was last year with a top 15 lead single but this??? I say 48k max.

I am obsessed with the ballad snippets, Thank You, You Knew Me When, The Best and The Worst and Thick Skin all sound glorious to my ears.

Same, I really can't wait to hear them all in full! Hopefully she'll perform "You Knew Me When" live during Q4. If it's as good as the snippet I think it could really help sell the album with a good TV performance of the song.

All of this is actually much better when you listen through as a whole. I haven't been that impressed but I just whizzed through the snippets and all the full songs, and I can see why there was buzz. The campaign has just been obliterated by the trickle of songs though, which fail to stand up individually. She's missing that killer single to ignite the flame.

I'm also less than impressed with most of the lyrics in her verses. She needs to work with stronger co-writers or just stop writing altogether. She doesn't seem to have anything to say.

Jess Glynne does not have a "big" voice.
I think she's pretty known for having a big voice, having had to endure far too many reveller's attempts at belting out Rather Be.

But it's fine if you disagree - the point still stands for the other artists I mentioned!

Any idea when the video will be released now? I suppose it makes now to just release it the same day as the album.
