Worth It (feat. Iamsu) for: the reprise. Fuck my entire life up with the actual song and then come for my corpse too and throw it into a canal cause you ain’t done slaying, your song ain’t done, you need to really come for my entire wig okay well guess what you can have the hair on my temples as well I don’t really care I would have shaved them off regardless considering it’s the only hair still left.

I’m so mad right now. I’m mad for everyone that denied this brilliant opulent paradisiac B.O.P. its rightful Top 10 20 placement. I’m not talking about heathen @constantino only, just everyone who scored this under a 9.5 8. I’m trying to get this done soon enough cause this tortured skin on my face deserves a good night sleep too, but a name and shame is coming soon enough (conditions may apply) so hold onto your weaves cause you ain’t ready.

This song. This. Song! Those towering drums. SOPHIE found decapitated on the bottom of the specific ocean. Plinky plonky piano 3.0. That voice. Larger than life hooks. You don’t really need much to make a killer whatever genre Touch Pass is song. And the bridge. I see y’all quiver at those basic pop songs with those basic middle-8s. What do you think about that insane, annihilating middle-8? You don’t get that. Ha.

Someone who’ll probably never get that is constantino (5): “This is just a pass for me...it’s just really nothing-y.” I feel like, either you worked out a way to, like, give my 11 a 23 or I don’t know how you could make up for all this. Going on, with phily475 (7.5): “Unexpected sound, especially when compared with the rest of the mixtape, but still great.” Yeah, it definitely feels like a rae of light after a long tunnel. Or as AshleyKerwin (8.5) puts it: “A happy moment after a perilous album.” We end with nikkysan (9), who gracefully stans: “This grew on me a lot recently, how she just coos that chorus makes the song irresistible to me.” It’s honestly so great. And I had hoped it was better received. Sigh.

I like Touch Pass but the instrumental just makes me think of Heard 'Em Say, I can't shake it. Not that that's a bad thing by any stretch, but I've just wanted to mention it for a long time k.

And yes Superlove should leave, please.

Worth It (feat. Iamsu) for: “Ice in my hair cause I’m a cold bitch”

Whatever. This is clearly the weakest link on the immaculate Nightride for me and I can’t understand for the love of me how not one not two not three but FOUR other tracks from it fell earlier than this. I’m not saying it’s bad, just so boring compared to everything that surrounds it. Sunburn does the whole low-key sound much better, and to stay in near proximity Company bops harder and the one-two punch You Don’t Know Me-Spacetime completely obliterate ha.

Posh Spears (9) confirms my worst fears: “Queen of ice in her hair” This is definitely something you can find on Urban Dictionary isn’t it? nikkysan (6.5) serves 94% spot-on: “I'm being nitpicky here but this can sound very repetitive at times. Not my favourite Nightride track.” and I’m even scoremates with constantino (7) this time around: “SOMEONE is faded, aren’t they? It’s ok, you do you, sis. Whatever helps you survive in label limbo.”

How can you try so hard and so little at the same time?

Presented without comment.

AshleyKerwin (10) is easy to please. I mean, same, but still I manage to find some standards for this song: “This song is so futuristic and icy. I love how she can repeat glitch and I’ll still be like “queen!””. I’ll give you that. And finally, our third 11 to vacate comes from TRAVVV. I’m sorry this lil alliance of ours lasted so little, sis. It was fun til it lasted. Will treasure those moments forever. Ok, no more fooling around, here’s the commentary: “This is my 11, purely because I don’t know anyone else who could pull of such a weird track. It makes me want to sip lean and then maybe take some shrooms and go take a train in Russia.” Been there. (Mostly) done that. Not really worth it. Only trees and trees everywhere. Now that I think bout it Tee would probably appreciate. I’d rate o6/1o.

Next up we lose another 11, and kind of a big deal.

It hurts, but I'm proud of it for making it this far. Especially with how dirty I did some of these songs.

A fine midtempo, a poor follow up single.

Worth It (feat. Iamsu) for: I could single out all of the lyrics really. The level is sky-high

Second single from Aquarius booted off before Top 20 was definitely not something I was expecting. It was also the main culprit of dispersing all the buzz generated by 2 On so probably its low placement should surprise no one. Again, things like those should not spoil our enjoyment of Tinashe’s immaculate bops. Otherwise we’d straight up hate three fourths of her catalogue. Otherwise we’d end up like @constantino.

I kind of love A$AP Rocky. I should dig into his solo work. He was perfect in Lust For Life, and on Aquarius he’s the best feature and everyone with a functioning pair of ears agrees. I also live for Tinashe’s rap-singing. The lyrics, again, are stunning. The only thing I’m not here for is that drum pattern. It sounds so… cheap? Boot. It’s a pity, cause otherwise the production is unclockable. Credit where credit’s due though: it’s like the first act to Far Side of the Moon’s I’m leaving your sorry ass grand finale. That song better make it far by the way.

phily936 (9) lets us know he’s generally only here for the bopz: “I'm not a fan of ballads but this is really lovely and a total bop. However I think the verses are slightly stronger than the chorus, but it's still great.” while TRAVVV (10) hit that repeat button one more time: “Definitely played this for a week straight upon release.” We close with constantino (10), who for once wholeheartedly stans: “This is one of my favourite things she’s ever done. It feels very genuine and sincere from her. I especially love how the sparse and distant production contrasts with her warm and grounded vocal delivery.” Awwww. This is actually kinda cute. The editors are telling me it’s not too late for a redemption arc, boo. Depending on the material you provided them, of course.

Soul Glitch deserved better. I wish I could go back and 10 it.

My favorite line from Soul Glitch is "Why you turn me to a monster/ Why you faded at my concerts".

If Pretend was by any other pop girl with a way worse discography, it would be a highlight. It left at the right time I guess.

Worth It (feat. Iamsu) for: Vocals? Yeah, vocals. You better belt it all out darling

This is a bop. I think we all understand that. But this almost bothering Top 25? With all the stellar tracks we have seen fall off these past few days? No Sawtan! I hate to throw that word around, considering who we’re dealing with, but this song is kinda basic and not in the intentional trashy enjoyable way. She sings the hell out of it, the production bops, the chorus goes off. It’s technically solid. But it never leaves an impression really. It totally lacks in emotion. It’s possibly the only song I regret overscoring, even though I remember why I did.

Let me also tell you this. This is the only song on the album where she doesn’t have a writing credit. Maybe you didn’t know it, but I’d like to thank you regardless for never mentioning it because I’m honestly so sick and tired of these “reel muzak” shenanigans. Who cares if she didn’t write this single song? She’s proven time and time again how good she is at song writing. Also, the fact most of the rest is better written than this certainly helps. And even if she'd never picked up a pen, she has a distinctive personality to pull off someone else’s material with ease, and that’s completely fine. Whether the goods are your own or someone else’s, it all depends on the vessel if they make it to destination.

nikkysan (8) completely erases history: “I really like this but why did they choose this as the album closer over Bated Breath? It's always bothered me.” You didn’t come for the heavenly bucolic The Storm. You. Did. Not. OH HONEY. AshleyKerwin (5.5) spills that truth tea HONEY: “Tinashe’s discography is such a high caliber that it’s hard to give this a better score even if there’s nothing particularly wrong about it.” HOOOOOOOOOOOONEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEY.

phily222 (9) also kinda erases history: “I feel like this is a very underrated and overlooked bop. That chorus is undeniable.” Honey you can’t overlook something if there’s nobody looking. Checkmate. Quick, let me put on my best Olenna Queen of Thorns dress fast as I can for constantino's (10) latest tomfoolery: “Margaery Tyrell is SHOOK. I’m gonna need some aloe vera right about now because that epic chorus burns my scalp to a crisp every damn time.” Confession time: it was not the chorus. Tell Cersei, I want her to know it was me.

AND YES IT WAS TOO SOON STILL @constantino DAMN!!! MY POOR OTHER QUEEN. AT LEAST SHE WENT OUT WITH A BANG IN THE GREATEST SCENE OF TELEVISION EVAH
