I feel like there was a lot of doubt before Montero and "He wasted all the momentum" when Holiday didn't strike, but the truth is that he is a charming and charismatic artist. He'll just need the right song (and the monumental push behind it) to get things going. TTour is not yet 100% done since he's doing more gigs on upcoming months, but a (great) single would be appreciated after the xmas songs.

Wasn't "Star Walkin" doing okay? They just never followed up with any sort of promo. We didn't even get the music video dd
I really think people just didn't care for Star Walking dd (I know several people here did, I mean the general public). Radio hammered it initially and it had heavy playlisting on Spotify, so its not like people didnt know it existed. It just never broke out the way his singles tend to... people just weren't going back to it.
It'll still cross 200M streams on Spotify eventually, so it definitely wasn't a huge flop, but it didn't live up to what a Lil Nas X single could/should be.

Yeah, he said there were two music videos. One for League and then one of his own. That's what all the teaser photos were for.
It is a shame the Montero era didn't have at least one more single/remix/music video to extend the era into this year. It reminds me of Bangerz stalling and the following year being all about the tour. But then there's probably something to be said about artists being that ubiquitous and burning out from it and still having to be in tour mode... it's a lot! I have faith that he'll be refreshed with new ideas and bops next year.

I will once again remind us that he faced an unimaginable onslaught of homophobia and racism and even though he responded perfectly and iconically, the human toll can’t be overstated. Montero made all the one hit wonder haters shut up, he deserves his space and time and I know when he returns with a new era, he’ll blow us away again.
