Little Mix - LM5

  1. I'd love them to go back to the Disney pop sound of Black Magic, but I know I'm in the minority there.

LM5 left me cold both in terms of music and personality.

  2. You may be in the minority here but there's obviously a big fanbase out there who'd agree with you. I wouldn't be surprised at all if they go back to that sound, at least in part.

Interested to know what you thought of Salute?

Agreed, but it's probably also due to a general lack of allout pop acts (leave alone bands) at the moment.
I appreciate LM5 but for me Glory Days had a lot more replay value.

  4. Salute is my least played album by them. I probably wouldn't be able to hum the majority of the songs on it. I know this says more about me than the quality of the album, though! I can recognise that it's quite a good album given that it was only their second one.

  5. Think About Us and Strip were done so dirty. It should be illegal to treat pop releases the way they were treated.

  6. I really don’t care for the Radio Disney sound that dominated Get Weird (or the concept of “pure pop”) at all. I’d be totally fine with them never reverting to that sound again since I’m so used to Mature Mix now.

  7. They don't need to go back to Disney sound to have big hits again. Woman Like Me didn't have a chanty chorus and still did amazingly, especially streaming-wise which is the way to go right now.

  8. If they came back with Touch 2.0, I would be quite satisfied.

  9. In the club, boy, I’ll forget you not.

  10. Whilst it's not my favourite of theirs, where Woman Like Me succeeded was that it struck a good balance between maturity (the song itself) and personality (the video and some of the performances). I'd like more of that please.

  11. I am so ready for them to come back.

  12. Likewise. It has to be soon.

  13. They'll most likely have a single out by summer, it's not that long.

I'm low-key dreading it if it really does sample Barbie Girl though ddd.

  14. Forget You Not was done so dirty with its bonus track status

  15. Forget You Not was done dirty by not spending at least 6 weeks at #1.

  16. So they're already recording performances for the new single?

  17. LM5 in general. One single campaign and pretty much abandonment.

Still mourning for the loss of the winter smash signed that never was 'Monster in Me'.

  18. There's at least 4 songs left on the album that would have been great singles, so it's a shame things ended so soon, even if I can get the reasoning behind it.

I imagine they were as disappointed as the rest of us though.

  19. LM5 was doomed the moment it was titled LM5.
