Little Mix: The Last Discography Rate (For Now...)

By 2016 was any act releasing b-sides? I feel like they were part of era where b-sides accompanying singles weren’t a thing anymore but instead we got “deluxe edition” versions of albums with bonus tracks.

I guess there weren't. Possibly for a lot longer too, I just.. never quite noticed?
I first read it as if there'd have been more quality control if they'd been around earlier, which puzzled me for a minute

It was co-written by Jesy and her ex-fiancé, Jake Roche of the band Rixton, who we can all recognize as the epitome of so hood, so good, so damn taboo.

Freak is okay the other two are kind of a mess, Word Up! being one of least favorites in the entire discography.

You Gotta Not - 9.4 - I just tune out on the lyrics which are admittedly dreadful as this is a bop.
Freak - 1 - Just... not good.
Word Up - 5 - I'm STILL salty that they didn't use Competition as the Sport Relief single, it would have been perfect.

"Dreamin' Together" is a song by now-defunct Japanese girl-group Flower featuring Little Mix. It was included on their second album Hanadokei, and was a bonus track on the Japanese edition of Get Weird.

Despite not being released as a single (at least according to Wikipedia), it received a music video, though it has an oddly low amount of views (less than 300k). Similar to "Une autre personne", I'm not entirely sure how this collaboration came about.

I really don't have much to say about this, and @YourLeadSinger can only muster up a "meh" as well. The limp-ass production... it's a no for me.

"Beep Beep" is our first song to break the 6.0 mark!

It was the second bonus track on the Glory Days deluxe edition alongside "Freak" (plus the acoustic version of "Touch"). For some reason, both it and "Freak" weren't included on the Platinum edition of Glory Days, and were only later added to the digital version.

So here's the thing - I'm all for a good sex bop. This, however, is absolutely not it. Like "A.D.I.D.A.S.", I find it low-key uncomfortable to listen to because it's so sexual but it's dressed up as a kiddie pop song. I don't want to listen to a sex bop if it's being made to be sung by five-year-olds, and this is even more over-the-top and gross than "A.D.I.D.A.S.".

The production isn't a write-off but the men singing in the background of the chorus makes the entire ordeal even worse. This is like bottom 5 Little Mix for me.

@YourLeadSinger looks at it from a different angle, saying "Hahahahaha, cheeky. I feel like they made these types of silly yet dirty songs to troll the parents of their younger fans."

A great round for me (and a not-so-great round for @boombazookajoe!) as most of my low scores exit, with "One I've Been Missing" being next.

Released as a standalone single after "Bounce Back" in 2019 and later included on the expanded edition of Confetti, "One I've Been Missing" was Little Mix's attempt at a Christmas original. It was their first and only, after a few covers and the Christmas Mix of "Love Me Like You" in 2015, and was co-written by Leigh-Anne as well as R&B singer Sinéad Harnett.

Apparently this was a contender for the UK Christmas number-one single and ended up charting at... #59, becoming their only single ever to miss the Top 40. Mess. At that point, "Think About Us" was their only single to miss the Top 20 and that was only by 2 spots. And unlike "Underneath the Tree", "Santa Tell Me", and "One More Sleep", this never caught on as a yearly classic and hasn't outpeaked its debut or even earned a Silver certification. A massive flop all-around then.

This actually did much better in our rate than I was expecting as I thought it'd out in the bottom 10. It's just so dreary. A Little Mix Christmas original should've been fun and joyous and festive, basically the opposite of this.

Ugly and gross! In the grand scheme of things, are these 10s and 9s? Hmm…probably not. But I also know how you hags are and sometimes I have to throw some bonus points to songs that need it. Clearly I was right.

Beep Beep is absolutely rotted though, so that was correct.

Dreamin' Together - 4 - A more successful collaboration than the other song, I don't love it but it's cute.
Beep Beep - 6 - This is so silly but I do bop a little when it's playing.
One I've Been Missing - 8.6 - This is really cute and they sound gorgeous. Too much of Jesy's wobbly vibrato though.

Dreamin' Together - 7. I wouldn't actively seek it out but it's perfectly fine.
Beep Beep - 8. Love this.
One I've Been Missing - 7. Nothing wrong with it but at a time where I pretty much loved every single they put out it was a bit meh.

Dreamin' Together is another great discovery that has been done wrong and Beep beep is cute but I understand why it's hated by some.

One That's Been Flopping was such a pointless mess. On paper they should have easily been able to come up with a great little christmas bop, so I really don't know how they misjudged it so much.

"Make You Believe" is the second DNA track to exit after "We Are Who We Are". It was a bonus track on the deluxe edition of the album.

This is cute but ultimately a bit unremarkable. It has an X-Factor winner single vibe to it, in the sense that it's vaguely inspirational and has big midtempo pop production backing it. I'd maybe find it better if they really ramped up the drama, but as it stands, it's just fine.

@YourLeadSinger on the other hand is stanning: "Another stellar track relegated to a bonus track. Should’ve been on the album proper."

Confetti loses its first song, the piano ballad "My Love Won't Let You Down", therefore making Salute the only album so far to not lose any of its tracks. (I guess LM5 deserves credit too as it only lost its intro).

It's tied between this and another song in terms of my least favourite from Confetti, so I'm glad it's first out. This is very basic to me. The production in uninteresting, the vocals are uninteresting, and overall it just comes and goes and barely makes a dent. It feels like a box-ticking exercise where the album was done and someone was like "we don't have a ballad" and then this was written, produced, and sung in 5 minutes before the deadline.

DNA loses another bonus track as "Love Drunk" is out next, making "Case Closed" the highest-rated DNA bonus track.

@YourLeadSinger loses another 10, calling this a "Big pop bop. What more can I say?". I'm not entirely on board though - I like the verses, but I don't like the double-time (?) chorus. Leigh-Anne's rapped middle-8 isn't that great either. It has pretty clean production but otherwise I don't think it was a big deal that this was left off the standard edition.

I'm glad we all agree that "Case Closed" should've replaced "We Are Who We Are" though!

Make You Believe turned out to be one of my favorite rate discoveries. It’s solid! I think it could’ve stayed a teensy bit longer.
I agree! I thought it would have the “great song why was it ever a bonus track?” status like it deserves.

Not two of the best tracks on DNA being kicked out so early!

Also, just want to say I agree Leigh’s rap on “Love Drunk” is a bit of a meh but it’s one of the better raps she had on that album.

I ended up thinking Make You Believe was far better than I ever remembered it being and it got a 9 from me, sad to see it go.

Make You Believe - 7 - Far from a standout, even on the debut, but perfectly fine
My Love Won't Let You Down - 5 - I don't know if it's because the whole 'it about the love between the 4 of us' just doesn't feel right anymore or because it's just so boring but I think this is my lowest rated song here. The whole "I'll be theeeeere" is whiny as hell.
Love Drunk - 8 - Bop. Great one too.

Make You Believe - 4.6 - Just very unremarkable.
My Love Won't Let You Down - 6.5 - I do like this one, but I find it quite forgettable when I'm not listening to it. Jesy's wobbly vibrato annoys the hell out of me though, and I've always felt like this about her vocals, not just post Little Mix.
Love Drunk - 5.9 - This is the best of the bonus tracks to me and it bops a little, but nothing special.
