You heard the robot! Yas, queen, slay!

I don't know how realistic it is since sales usually slow down a whole lot after the first few days, but hopefully they manage to also beat [&]'s first week sales - that would be great for them. But even if they don't, I think they've done really well for themselves by already scoring the group's 3rd best first week sales.

Only like ~500 copies and they would have gotten it... Obviously it doesn't matter that much in the bigger scheme of things as the album will keep selling in the upcoming days, but it would have been a nice little victory for them.

Chuu had a pre-recording for a performance (that will be out on the 18th), so some Orbits attended and got a listen to "Howl" (the title track). Here's what they had to say, supposedly:

  • Obviously they gave severely positive compliments ("The song is so good?!" "Even if I wasn't a fan, I would want to listen to it again" etc etc), but that's to be expected I feel like from fans who would go out of their way to attend a pre-recording
  • Apparently she was "cold" on stage. One even described her as "full of venom" (?!). This is surprising because I think everybody expected her to go for a "bright" and "peppy" style of performance - or just downright warm ballad typical of a main vocal.
  • The set had a "temple + winter feel"
  • Some fans claimed the song had a bit of a Taeyeon vibes.
  • Some fans also started sobbing as soon as it started (ddd). Apparently the lyrics are very touching. Chuu said she cried when she first received the lyrics, and the fans noted that there's a lot of stuff contained in the lyrics and people should check them out when the song is out.
  • The song *does* have choreography and it was described as "amazing" and "beautiful", a fan even claimed it was "moving" and a "work of art" (and thanked La Chica for choreographing it). Makes me wonder if it might be more of a 'Butterfly' type of vibe where the choreo is maybe more elegant? I don't know.

Generally speaking "cold vibes" is the comment that came up the most often it seems... Which again is very surprising ddd

I'm holding on to the 'it sounds a bit like a Taeyeon song". They better not have lied to me.

I’m a bit confused guys. What are the girls doing right now? Is Loossemble the new Loona? Are the girls all together? Is Chuu with them? Or is she on her own? It’s such a mess.

Heejin, Haseul, Kim Lip, Jinsoul and Choerry signed with MODHAUS, and now form the new sub-unit "ARTMS" (for the goddess of the moon Artemis). Kim Lip, Jinsoul and Choerry had a recent comeback as Odd Eye Circle. Heejin will be releasing her solo album in October. Haseul will also release a (digital?) single in late October to promote her solo concert planned towards the end of the month. ARTMS hasn't debuted as a sub-group yet. They will debut and release music as a group, although it seems the general focus might be on sub-units (OEC) and solos (Heejin, Haseul, maybe even the OEC girls as solo artists) with a few group (ARTMS) comebacks sprinkled here and there rather than the opposite. We'll see, though.

Hyunjin, Yeojin, Vivi, Gowon and Hyeju (Olivia Hye) signed with CTD Ent, and now form the new sub-unit "Loossemble" (LOONA Assemble). There doesn't seem to be any plans for them to do any solos and what not, and instead they will very much work as a group. They've released a (very good) album last month.

Yves has decided to go the Indie Solo route. She doesn't have a company yet. She's having lots of meetings lately, but my guess is she wants total creative control, so I don't think she will be working with any "typical idol company". It's speculation but I think she will go for a company that basically offers her a distribution and marketting deal but under which she basically still gets to call all of the shots. We'll see, though. Otherwise she's been composing and producing music, including one song from the Loossemble album.

Chuu, who was kicked out of the group by BBC and signed with a new company (ATRP) before the other girls got to win their lawsuit against BBC, is also gearing up for a solo release on October 18th. She isn't affiliated with CTD Ent and/or Loossemble, but she (and Yves have) been featured in Loossemble content.

Members have spoken about "doing something together in the future" but as of right now since they can't use the LOONA name (for now), it's not in the immediate plans and probably won't be for a little while.

Recently BBC has announced that they will keep fighting them in court, and has appealed all of the court verdicts in favor of the girls.

Thank you very much! Now everything’s clearer. I hope to see them all together one day.

How is she doing in sales? Any hope of charting in Melon?

She also just recently announced a US tour... That's going to be catastrophic ddd. I have no idea what her company is thinking. Way too soon, and she's basically touring venues with similar capacities to what OT12 did last year. I love her, but that's just not realistic...

On MelOn, she pretty much reciprocated what the group used to do on there : chart in the top 200, etc. (To be fair, none of the other girls managed that this year, OEC barely charted into the Top 1000 for one day while Loossemble missed it entirely), so that level is definitely sustainable for her if it was for the full-group back then. I just wonder if she and/or the company expected more. Succes-wise, domestically, it's more akin to Eunbi and Chaeyeon (from IZ*ONE) than say Yuri or Yena, but I think the latter is what they were probably hoping for? I guess there's still time for the song to maybe rise... We'll see.

Her venues of choice are actually a lot more realistic than Loossemble ddd, I reckon she could actually sell a few of those dates out. The problem is we already can tell it'd be a showcase, maybe 5 songs and an hour of banter which is not much of a draw in this economy ddd.

Let's face it, the song is not gonna do better because it's mid.

That’s pretty strong sales wise for a solo effort, isn’t it?
I did think she might have a chance at charting since she’s a popular figure, but no idea actually how popular or how that correlates to Melon in the end.

Chuu is having a mini-concert in Korea at the moment, which should be a good indication of what she will perform during her tour in the US. She just did a rock arrangement (presumably due to right issues) of 'Heart Attack', and it's kind of hitting.

Oh and a cover of 'Toxic'.......She ate that

She's also back to black hair so I'm assuming the era is over already dddd. She performed 'Howl' a total of two times I think... Hopefully next comeback she gets to promote the titletrack a little more.

Do we think they should’ve pushed Heejins debut a bit? I feel Chuu being more popular and coming just a bit before kind of took away orbits attention / money. Plus loosemble before that.

Moving forward might be best to not overlap as much if they want decent sales.

Having said that Chuu has the second best material post group. The mini is pristine. Let’s get her some SM middle 8s next time!

Odd Eye Circle were so fantastic last night! I literally never thought I would get to see LOONA members live and in my city. They're so talented performers and engage with the crowd so well. You can tell they have so much fun on stage, it was infecteous. Due to being legally blind and some seat disasters (the festival was a MESS ngl) my partner and I wound up in VIP seating so I had such a fantastic view of them too.

They were also the only group attending who did an encore, slay.

But now we've said it! Yup yup yup yup.

I do think there's been a bit of a Orbit fatigue lately. Orbits never had to actually spend all that much between our usual one comeback per year and almost no promotion overseas (although, obviously, COVID all that, I'm aware). It's a lot of money - between album, fansigns, merch, tours, mini-concerts, etc. It's ironic (and a bit sad) but I don't think the girls have ever been this active ddd.

That being said...I doubt it would have changed things all that much for Heejin. I think we would still be looking at a much lower number than the rest. Honestly, I think it's going to be the case for most solos (if other members also went down that road).
