Is there a reason the light box has decreased majorly in size?
I believe the second she won Melodifestivalen it was confirmed that BBC wouldn't be able to handle the big screen because it'd need to be prepared & ready before the show, which would obstruct/interfere with other performances and shots.

They did a great job translating this. They've definitely pulled the focus in on her way more with the light box shrinkage. I want to know whose initial idea that was because it was fucking genius. The way it casts light down and around her, placing her in this swirling hurricane of sand... genius.

I thought it was the weight of the thing, the roof couldn't take it. tthat's one of the reasons birmingham lost out too, resorts world roof couldn't manage their ask

I'm hopping between this and the Eurovision thread, but in terms of the staging, song and vocal, she is totally unmatched. Finland are the real challenger and may beat her in the televote, but she deserves to take it all. I got full body goosebumps when that final chorus exploded last night. Absolutely incredible. She is electric.

yeah, I'm also sensing Finland as the only competitor, but it's just Loreen's Song Contest this year.
I wish they'd incorporate some of that yellow light from MelFest, though. It looks a bit washed out at times visually.

'Euphoria' - 'Statements' - 'Tattoo' is such an incredible trifecta, hoping the latter becomes another great representation of her artistry for an era.

I still think 'Statements' deserves more than it got, even if it failing helped us get here. Its such an anthemic and timeless battle cry against politically empty words that carries so much anger and loss with her voice.

I agree, but I think Statemens was over-staged. The message didn't come across well, and although I knew what she was singing because I'd listened to the song and knew the lyrics, her diction was awful. My husband did not get a single thing about the song, other than the strong melody.

She just did a bit too much for that one so I can understand why it wasn't a vote grabber. But I absolutely adore it still.
